    Aiming very close cuts

I have success with these shots by placing my cue over the center of the object ball and in line with the center of the pocket, thus finding the most distant point from the pocket on the object ball. Then do a parallel shift with the cue until it is centered over the cue ball. The far point from...

Utilizing peripheral vision during the final stroke

As part of my PSR I use peripheral vision to feel the shot as close as I can. I aim to the center of the pocket, then aim to the right of the pocket, then aim to the left of the pocket, then back to the center. If needed, I repeat the process on difficult shots to refine the accuracy. Then I...

One-rail kick power/spin choices for smallest margin of error

Forget about the calculator. For me, this is the best system to start with. Use some paper hole reinforcers for a starting and ending point. Shoot the same shot with various speeds and english until you are comfortable with the combinations. Then repeat with a completely different set up. Good...

    Chang - Foul or Not?

If there is a ref for a match his/her job is to follow the rules. Period. Many players just do not go to the player meetings. The DCC is a classic example of this. Just think if you were in a players meeting and someone said "If I forget and push the cue ball with my cue, will this be a foul?"...

    Using Force Follow

The game is 9 ball. You are trying to use force follow off of the 1 ball so the cue ball makes the 9. What system or systems do you use the aim to hit the 1 ball? Or do you just use HAMBs( Hit a million balls)?

    SPIN WHEN USING THE BRIDGE

You must be getting a lot of deflection because bridged shots are usually shorter and closer to the pocket.

    Pivoting at the Elbow

Many pool instructors teach a stroke technique of moving only from the elbow joint on down until after the cue ball is hit. Do you agree with this? And if so, how do you help students through this process?

    Unusual/weird/unique billiard tools and implements

So now you made me feel very old... these are 2 of my aprons from years ago. I often wore suits or dress pants when in the pool rooms. Gold Crowns have aluminum molding around the tables that would make dark marks which could ruin good pants. Often a sharp place could snag pants. Most folks wear...
