I’m sure you read my post so you would know I totally agree that single elim is much more exciting and a much better product for audiences. And yes I understand how two stage events work, I was just giving a personal observation when I look at the event in its entirety, pretty easy to do since...
Same here. I wouldn’t mind the whole tournament being single elimination with long races. But it is what is. Matchrooms doing good things and making it entertaining.
Other than the tables and sometimes unapologetically biased commentary, Matchroom put out another great show. Thier already great production quality is consistently getting even better. Well done to Albin for grinding out the win. Would have loved to see the hard working and class guy Omar take...
Bit of a rant but I’ve always really disliked Jim Wych and Phil Yates in the booth. I’m hate when a player misses a difficult shot under extreme pressure and the commentators bash the player. Pool is actually pretty damn difficult despite how the top guys make it look sometimes, and having to...
Christoph Reintjes had to drop out of the tournament. He said he received a email from the UK govt telling him that a person from his flight had tested positive so he has a legal duty to self isolate. Tough roll. He was slated to play Kelly Fisher this round.
Didn’t see any threads about this, but Justin Hall beat Dennis 5-2 in the finals yesterday to win the title. Held at Griffs. Completed brackets -

I do this a lot too, especially with the template. The wing ball is basically guaranteed and the one gets consistently up to the corner. Drawing all the way back to beat possible bad kisses resulting in a scratch makes sense to me.
Agreed. Definitely a few steps ahead of other brackets I’ve seen. The stats section is interesting and has good information broken down if you’re into those things.

112k in the auction. Alex went first blind for 12.5k and Dennis was the second blind at 13.5k
No need to apologize for being argumentative. I appreciate your opinion more than any other on this forum, which I have actually told you in person, though I doubt you remember a brief conversation at a Paigow table.
I give Filler plenty of credit actually and consider him to be in the top 3 players today. Me thinking his defensive execution is the weakest part of his game is like me saying Ronnie Coleman could have had bigger calves. Filler is top class in every department.
But yeah I consider Shane to be...
Interesting. I don’t think you will find very many people that would say Filler has a better defensive/tactical game than SVB.
As good as Filler is I think it’s a slight weakness in his game and he can improve in that department. Which is a scary thought if he does.
Sure was. Few things I took away was seeing Dave Matlock on the stream was pretty cool. Jesse Bowman is super fun to watch play and I always like seeing Warren win tournaments. Seemed like a good inaugural event and PoolActionTV crew did a great job covering as usual.
