    Cue Tip Compression

Cole used an analogy to make his point on why the hard tip (waterbuffalo). Probably not perfect analogy 🤷‍♂️ but he compared the bounce of a sponge to the bounce of a ball bearing from a hard surface. Indicating that the later was more consistent or predictable in his comparison. Soft leather...

    Cue Tip Compression

I'm not sure what year but when the layered tips first came upon the scene, I won a layered tip in a contest or lottery. I was required to have the tip installed by their technician. I assume to be sure operator error didn't lead to a bad review. 🤷‍♂️ No way would I let anyone but Roger touch...

    Snooker from Saudi Arabia

Drat, well perhaps.... The last session at 3 hours has been taken down from youtube for copyright. Seems fair, hope my subscription allows archives. Well I know it does and well wanted to locate and review the one frame where Ronnie untied the tight knot of reds.

    Channeling Buddy Hall

Watch the Snooker GOAT and do it the way Ronnie does. I noted the stance and foundation of Cole as bullet proof. Heck when he got set, if the Stolies got him and he passed out, gravity would complete the shot. 🤷‍♂️

    Best shorty cue?

My 3 piece jump/break cue is my go to for shots with a wall interference. Since it's an uncommon situation, the weight and tip hardness are not something I fret over. The 3 piece does allow removal of the mid section for a shorty that works in tight situations. I do devote a portion of my...

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

Coming late to the question, I haven't read all the responses. My favorite stroke drill was to lay a long neck beer bottle on its side and stroke through the hole to touch the bottom without touching the bottle with the sides of the shaft as it passed in and out of the mouth. I did always...

    Cue Tip Compression

Le Pro was the go to tip back in the day. Taking a oversize tip and removing leather from the perimeter was a way to get a solid tip. They were often flaky around the perimeter. A 15 mm tip milled down to 13 was a solution. Roger would bite them to find a good one. Not sure his rejection rate...

    Cue Tip Compression

It's not a misscue it's a change in traction. Just a fraction. Some can live with it . I choose not to add glue globs to the cue ball. That's All. 🤷‍♂️

    Cue Tip Compression

The problem with layered tips is the glue layer. As the tip wears the glue is at the point of contact at times. This changes the tip / ball interaction. Fly specks on whitey is evidence of the glue layer leaving the tip. The lost traction could be the fraction that caused a miss. 🤷‍♂️ Triangle...

    Cue Tip Compression

It is about how the leather is treated. Cole used water buffalo but only one Master maker knew how to do it. So waterbuffalo tips are more of a crap shoot now.

    Practice what I Preach

Points Lines Planes Tickle the ivory was piano player. Pool player can do the same. 🤷‍♂️ Find the points Line the points , then put chin and belly button on the plane. The vertical plane. Holding the cue at balance point makes a good measure device. Make it a dance.

Is a Jump Shot an "Obvious Shot"?

CSI is pretty thorough. I long ago developed the habit of calling the ball and pocket as a part of my self hypnosis. Saying it aloud gives it power.

    Practice what I Preach

Getting The Left and Right to work together is a great idea. Just more information ℹ and more data regarding variation from plan......Ooops time to reboot. 😉

    Practice what I Preach

The self hypnosis and positive thinking. Daily exercise at the table. When no table I improvised. To develop a straight and powerful stroke. When I worked for a office furniture shop in Woodinville. I had 1200 pieces of hardwood to mill a mortise for aluminum connector on upholstered office...

Just the final frame. Notice Neal after the last ball. Coming back to earth. 😉

    Snooker from Saudi Arabia

I expect to review multiple times. The last frame first. Ronnie's hobby of running helps with the endurance. His foundation and basics perfected to the degree that the switch of hands is not noticable at times.

    Big pin ivory joint hit

This reminds of a post evening talking with Cole. Probably burning one. Shrug 🤷‍♂️ It had been a year or more since I bought the cue from him. He said, "I wouldn't be able to play with That cue now." My thought was "well his standard of play is pretty high. He could still beat most with a broom...

    Big pin ivory joint hit

This topic reminds of the leather height and the sweet spot being so close to the protector. Hard tip, probably Tri angle or perhaps waterbuffalo, on now. It lasts forever now. There was a time that I was wearing them out. Not any more. 🤷‍♂️

    Big pin ivory joint hit

Cool, at first thought? Was headscratch. The threaded connection is a possible mechanical failure site. Cole tested for Joss East. He repaired it well. He would drape the cue over his shoulders like the ape hanger. Ivory can and will Crack. Acetone followed with super glue is a solid repair...
