    Wood suggestions for a rookie

Just saw the corners off the square or use a router table to cut them off. Then turning round is a one pass job and much easier on your router and lathe. If you see any kiln dried wood you want to stock that does not come from the USA start buying it as they are restricting imports more and more...

Harold Worst 7 Rail Draw Shot - Fact or Fiction? Can anyone replicate this shot today?

Did anyone think about a light weight cue ball or heavy weight pool ball being used or both? Trick shots often have tricks to doing them.

Cue & Shaft Construction - Do You Care?

Having built cues for over 35 years. I can tell you how the cue is put together makes a huge difference in how it performs. So you might not be interested in how things are put together internally, but you should want to know the person who built it does care and understand what it takes to make...

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

I used to win a lot of tournaments. If I won one I may not go back to that event for a few weeks. Or I would at least skip a week. If it was regularly played tournament and I won two in a row I would skip a few weeks. I used to go in a little circuit back in the early 90s hitting various events...

    Variable speed foot pedal control.

I used to use that one on my lathes, but it still had a hard fast start at almost half speed so I abandoned it for one that works slightly better, but still not as sensitve as the sewing machine ones from 30 years ago.

Who says barbox 8-ball is harder than 9-foot?

To me 8 ball is a little easier on the 9 foot table with equal normal size pockets and 9 ball is easier on 7 footers by far.

Milkdud tips versus „just dry pressed without soaking in anything“

Soaking in milk will produce a milk dud with or without pressing. They are usually soaked without pressing. But pressing it makes it play instantly as hard or harder than the tip will after many hours of play. By pressing dry you are just speeding up the process of breaking in the tip , unless...
