    Straight maple blemishes

Seeing grain feathers is not a blemish. Brown sugar lines or black mineral spots or streaks are considered blemishes even though they occur naturally..

Very Early High End Schon with 6 Shafts

I am selling off my collection a little at a time. Here is an old Schon I have had since the 80s. 6 Schon shafts of varying diameters. $4000 Here is a link to a thread I posted about it many years ago: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/old-schon-cue.341238/...

NO reply from ULTRA SOFT TIPS !!

Just make a paypal claim and get your money back. No one knows what is going on not even those who used to be really close friends. So until someone hears from him we can only assume Ultra Skins are not coming back. I am moving on to SIB for the time being. That is one of Tom's older brands he...

    CF conditioners?

No that is not a common issue for most. Most want the Carbon Fiber shafts to not have so much drag in their hand. I think this may be a first for me. Hundreds of times I have heard or seen it asked how to make the shaft slicker. But not the opposite.

Metric Router Bits with 1/4 inch Shank

You can use a Dremel tool with chuck, or get a pin chuck for your router with a 1/4 shank. You can drill a very slightly undersized hole and then push a mm reamer into the hole by hand and rotate it and your fit will be near perfect.

Huebler ferrule is cylinder with mostly wood touching cue tip -- Advantages? Disadvantages?

Replacing capped ferrule on older Schon cue with an uncapped ferrule helped because Schon's earlier cues used a really too-hard Micarta ferrule Your conclusion In BOLD above to what I meant was wrong. My wording probably was not as clear as it could have been. Schon switched to Capped LBM...

    Meucci ferrules.....??

It was specially made for them. I was told it was a special type of PVC by the owner of Sweetwater Cues when I bought a bunch of it when they closed down. I wish I had held onto it instead of selling them all off at a few dollars a piece.

What's the going rate for a used Cuesmith Deluxe?

It depends on age and condition. Older Deluxe Cue Smiths in decent shape usually bring about 1/2 to 2/3 current new price. Newer ones with lead screw power feed in good shape usually bring 2/3 to 3/4 new price. Those prices are for complete units with everything a new one comes with. Most have...

what do you cut a one piece with?

I would cut it with a cut off bit. No need for the Dremel for that. I have used a small hand saw on the lathe with the cue spinning. But I have also slipped with the saw that way and cut a groove or two where I did not want, while doing so many years years ago. So cut off tool bit is safest.

what do you cut a one piece with?

I have a metal cutting band saw that can drop down and cut a 57 inch cue in half. But cutting a one piece cue in the middle on a normal band saw does not compute to me. I cut 30 inch shafts in half on my 16 inch band saw to make coring dowels, but not sure how to reach that middle point on a...

    UV wood finish

I am getting a few more bubbles in it than I like. They sand out but it makes more sanding than I want to have to do between coats. I did some forearms and got it on with less of those. But on a full length cue it is giving me a little harder time. Kraft Kote clock finish is hard to master, but...

    UV wood finish

Clear Armor is harder to use than Brite Tone but is a much better finish. I am now using Clean Armor but not certain if I will go back to Kraft Kote or not.
