Will Prout - Clash of the Titans

That is a sweet looking car. The room looks like a museum. Very nice. I had a 65 Mustang once. Pretty much the only sports car I ever owned.

Is this a Baker or a Martin?

The shafts look like Martin Shafts. The butt does not look like any Martin cues I have seen. I think if Harvey built it that brown ring at the bottom would have his name in it.

White dots in the epoxy finish

I use the torch as I don't want to blow dust into the finish. Your torch must be propane and not butane. Butane puts black smut in the finish.

White dots in the epoxy finish

A few things I know of can cause it. One is little bubbles trapped from mixing. This is solved by passing a torch over the cue really fast after the finish has been on the cue a few minutes. Solvent pop is another cause where the solvent separates from the finish into its own little dots...

    Ferrule glue experiment

The people with lathes buy tips oversized then install them and cut them to match the ferrule. Ferrules are also made or bought over sized to the shaft and are turned to match the shaft after installed on the shaft.

What makes a great jump cue great?

Hard tip and hard ferrule and light weight.

Are there real differences between a carom cue and a pool cue

A carom cue normally has a much stiffer shaft taper.

    Ferrule glue experiment

I used to mix white shoe polish in the epoxy for ferrules and it pretty much eliminated the glue line. Then I started threading the ferrule almost all the way on leaving the shoulder face dry until about three minutes in on he five minute epoxy and then tightening the ferrule the rest of the way...

    Question about Jose Parica

I watched Johnny Archer run over him 2 sets in a row at the Wagon Wheel. I never saw Efren match up with anyone. Efren was more feared in the tournaments than Parica late 80s and early 90s. Parica once walked into the room at a big Pro Tournament and offered the whole pro field the 8 except...
