    Advice on selling ivory-inlayed cue.

Can you give me a link. I thought we could still use Ivory in our own state any way we wanted, but not ship it out of state on new cues.

    MARKET VALUE??? TAD

Collectors are a dying breed. People used to buy cues for the craftsmanship and materials that went in. Now they are paying big dollars for cues that promise to make them play better, but in reality are much inferior cues. Those of us involved in the cue repair forums see how lousy some of these...

    R.I.P. Dick Abbott

I am very sad to hear of his passing. He really was one of the good guys in the billiard industry.

    MARKET VALUE??? TAD

It is probably worth about $5000 but no one wants to pay full retail on bigger dollar cues. My guess is you will probably wind up getting about $4500 for it. Younger players do not realize Tad made his reputation on how good his cues played. I may sell my last Tad some time and it really does...

Does anyone here have any experience with Norman Custom Cues?

I have not played with his cues. But he has been around for well over 20 year building cues and I have never heard one bad word about him or his cues. And we all know bad news travels fast in our industry. So that says a lot.

    No. Usually just bare aluminum.

IS THIS SOMETHING NEW (never seen 3/8x10 quik-release)

It really should not matter which metal as a .0005 thick coating is not expected to last forever. IMO. I am guessing it is possible they are titanium coated which may last longer than anodizing. Time will tell. I was wrong about gorilla glue holding up for decades when coring with it. I...

Are we all playing with the same leather (layered / solid) tip after 4-6 months?

I also mainly play with Old Triangles. The new ones tend to be very hard and inconsistent. If you find any twenty years old buy them as the new ones are not the same. I have about a dozen left and refuse to put them on for anyone but me, as I cant find them any longer. I have never found a...

    Buddy Hall - RIP

I sure hate to hear Buddy passed away. RIP. He used to come by my cue repair booth back at the Wagon Wheel pro events in Atlanta back in the 80s and early 90s. Once he came by with several younger men following him all over the pool room acting like young apprentices waiting for some nugget of...

IS THIS SOMETHING NEW (never seen 3/8x10 quik-release)

Those colored pins are anodized aluminum. Uni-Loc did that at first and then they had pins out there with the color coming off after months of play, so they abandoned that method. I suspect these pin makers will have the same experience down the road.

What's going on with the 3 high 3 low points....

You are dead on with this. And to add to it if the maker joins the forearm to the handle and allows wobble it will affect the shorter points more than the longer points. Another cause to the shorter points having bigger gaps on one side could be setting the router up at a slightly different...
