3/8-10 pins really need a bit of looseness so that he faces of the joint can properly align. I dont mean sloppy loose. Just loose enough to allow a very small wiggle when the faces come together.

Gilbert does not use a CNC to do Inlays? He must use a pantograph machine then. Are inlays done with CNC not as good as the ones done with another type machine?

It can hide small micro scratches and make it shine brighter and look better. Other than that I dont think waxing the butt would serve to protect it from anything. You might like the feel of a certain wax better than another.

One of the brand names is TrueStone ... look on Pen State Industrys pen making supply web site. Another would be Hut pen supplies. I have used it is cue inlays and it works well.
