    Butt cap / Hoppe

It looks like the weight bolt is drilled and tapped for securing a bumper onto it. One with the small hole in the center for the screw that holds it on to the butt. Something like this would be easiest to install.

    Butt cap / Hoppe

Would advise adding a bumper since the butt cap will be constructed. Depending on the roundness of the cue in the rea of the rings and butt cap and the precision of the cue tech doing the work you may or may not need any finish work other than some sealer over the new pieces. Something you would...

Any one use Bludworth cnc cue machine ?? A friend inherited

My G-code for shafts includes a measurement every 1/2 inch. The more steps there are the less sanding needed to get that nice smooth profile. The last 6 to 10 inches (toward the tip) is one step cause it is straight (pro taper). But from the joint to about 20 inches there is a step and a...

    How to smooth shaft.

If you measure a shaft's diameter and then lightly sand it with 600 grit (or higher) sand paper what do you think the shaft will now measure? More than one thousands or less than one thousandths smaller. Could you feel the difference? I suppose over time with many sanding the diameter would...

I bought one of these lathes with a shorter bed a few years ago. It is a good lathe and is precise enough for all cue work. As a metal lathe is is marginal. The chuck does center well but I replaced mine with a 6 jaw and added a 3 jaw chuck ( Hightower) to the left side of the lathe shaft...
