Unique Products sells a Shaft Cleaner that works very well. It has micro-bits in it that help clean the chalk out of the wood grain. Put that on some Mr Clean micro fiber scrubbers and you will be amazed. You rub it in with the grain of the wood and then wipe it off.

The main reason you dont many three point cues is that most players prefer 4 points or more. The cue makers will make what the pool players are buying.

I re-wraped one of those cues with that rubberized wrap and it was a real pain in the rear. The existing wrap will not peel off without separating leaving the bottom part still on the cue. That I had to scrape off with a sharp blade. Then I had to build up the wrap grove as it was to deep for linen.

Thin SuperGlue will penetrate the wood threads strengthening them against wear ... but you need to re-tap them to clean them up. A bit of candle wax on the joint pin will help reduce thread wear also.
