Making an offer on Gold Crown III

Unless the seller is really desperate, the seller would never be responsible for chipping in on the moving costs or even the breakdown costs. However, informing the seller of what it’s going to cost you to get the table broken down, moved to your residence and set back up with new cloth and...

Making an offer on Gold Crown III

It’s already been listed for two weeks, that’s a good sign. Additionally, people discriminating enough to look for a gold crown are more likely to be looking for a 9 footer, not an oversized 8, so that might also help. However, as others have said, there’s no telling how much longer this table...

Making an offer on Gold Crown III

It can’t hurt to start at $1500 just to get the negotiations going. I wouldn’t say $1500 is out of line as an opening offer, but anything less than that would not be a serious offer. You can let them know that you have to take into account the $1000 to get it moved not to mention another $500+...

Pool stick recommendations for a family member $100 - $150

Player’s SP - used to be under $100 not that long ago, but now closer to $150. Not fancy looking, but a very solid feeling/playing cue.

    Most dreaded shots lately

Any shot shooting perpendicular off the cushion, cue ball frozen or nearly frozen on cushion. These never bothered me before, but now I’m subject to miss a straight in shot in the side or even double hit the cue ball.

    Good hit?

Good hit. CB went forward after contact but it jumped immediately after initial contact, which avoided the double hit. At least that’s what I saw.

    Faster cloth on 7 footer

Cloth that is too fast can be brutal on a 7 foot table, as the positioning windows are smaller for all games. If you combine fast cloth with bouncy lively cushions, it’s really challenging.

Matchroom WNT Premier League Pool (PLP) 18-25 March2024, Connecticut, $100K Prize Fund

Does anyone know what the delay was between the foul on Ouschan’s break and Filler playing his first safety? I’m just curious if the refs had to confirm with the TD to let him know what his options were or if he just had indecision as to what to do?

Matchroom WNT Premier League Pool (PLP) 18-25 March2024, Connecticut, $100K Prize Fund

There will always inevitably be issues with round robin formats, even if $ payouts are gradually decreased all the way down to the last place finisher. There’s just not enough $ incentive for the players that have been eliminated from the higher places to keep giving it their best, as well as...

    Hill/Hill SVB/Shaw

So you think this is the first time JS has had to adjust on the fly to different table conditions due to the lighting, etc. on the TV table compared to the other tables? Are you kidding?

    Best table...

Yes, thanks. Strange they would change it from previous designs? I guess maybe to try to save a few $$?

    Question about cue extensions

Just curious, do you know does Rick Roper live in western NC and go by the nickname Yoyo? He used to occasionally play in our weekly tournaments and our bigger Sunday tournaments here at Family Billiards outside of Boone, NC, but he hasn’t played up here since pre-Covid.

    Best table...

That’s strange - Did they change the design of the cross beams under the slate?

    Hill/Hill SVB/Shaw

One would still think they would all know that.

    Bucket list

WOW! Just curious, approximate $ value?

    Hill/Hill SVB/Shaw

Amazingly fast cloth and cushions. I just watched the last game. Jayson clearly underestimated the speed of the table on a few shots, which eventually cost him. You’d think a player of his caliber would’ve adjusted to it before that.

    For the Taom Chalk Users

Sorry, but the Kamui $50 chalk shark is the best magnetic chalk holder on the market, in my opinion. By the time you place the Taom chalk in the square chalk holder sleeve, it is substantial enough to be very easy to grab with your fingertips and hold onto while you are chalking.

    Bucket list

I don’t believe pool (with pockets) was ever played with ivory balls, only billiards. And you have to play it on a 10 foot table with thick, slow cloth.

    Best table...

Yes, you can get a Diamond commercial model with drop pockets, and that would be my first choice of table. Ball returns are much harder on the balls as well as making it much harder to keep the balls clean.

    Scott Frost challenges the world

I’m taking a guess that he might not have confirmed those offers with his backers, if he would even have any going up against players of that caliber, for that amount of $$.
