Why are there so few black pro players..?

It is about educating pool folks who do not know what we know. There are a lot of folks who say American Pool is never better. If we can show one contingent which was once greatly involved but is no longer, it provides a point to convince, then extrapolate and begin analysis. (Oh, shit, he's...

    AZB MASCOT

Alright, this is stupid, but, as life mercilessly proves to us all, we are compelled to take the bad with the good. Suppose AZB was to have a mascot who, or what, should it be? I know it's wrong, but Alfred E. Neuman, of "What, me worry?" fame, has my vote. Anyone?

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

It has not been mentioned but as long as you are in the 1000 neighborhood, do not overlook GOOD USED CUES. People seem to take care of these types of cues, but if nothing else, they hold their value better than production cues bought new. Plain Jane Cognoscentis spring to mind but there are...

    Collectable Wood shafts?

In other words, upload either scaled photos of joint and ferrule or accurate measurements of each element, plus other info, to a website, and, within a few hours, you receive positive ID, list of possibilities (scored), or request for additional information. AZ Techies -- Is this possible?

    Collectable Wood shafts?

What's the alternative? No way I am going to throw them in the garbage or assign them to the garden. The problem, I think, is one of identification. Out of need/demand, a science, or rather an art, of identifying cue butts has developed. Not so for shafts alone, probably due to a lack of...

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

CoCo is absolutely correct, but 1000 now delays an update for quite a while.

    Pronunciation of "Aloysius" (Yapp)

No worries. I often confuse myself. Violent disagreements used to result until I refused to engage -- I found it was like arguing with Mrs. Dr. BB -- even when I won, I lost.

    Pronunciation of "Aloysius" (Yapp)

And calling me out was to? I made one of the best points made here -- a person has a right to pronounce his name however he pleases.

    Calcutta

Rest of story, please. No, let me guess. Payout not specified. When the dust settled, the Calcutta Director came up with a split that favored his friend (or someone who threw him some jelly) or disfavored his enemy. Moral of the Story: split should be set out in writing by Director and...

Wood Polisher on a custom cue

Not a very scientific analysis, but whenever I am watching videos of cue makers at their benches, I make it a habit to check out what products and tools they have readily at hand. Often I see a can of Renaissance Wax.

    Mystery Cue

I am a fool for vivid veneers, and these are a sweet as any. I would love to see the cue in person, or if nothing else, see some tighter, well illuminated, closeups of the points.
