I've done a ton of these. It's really a simple as removing the ballasts and running the wires to each 'tombstone' on the ends. The lights will come with a wiring diagram that shows it.

My wife always made me play lefty. Since it was on my 9' GC, I got fairly decent to the point where I almost never need a bridge or extension now. I also started playing against myself as right vs left. Right won the majority, but left wasn't too far behind after a while.

I lost in 8 and 9 ball last night. Pretty badly, at that. I just could not figure out how to make a ball. With the lone exception of one 8 ball game where I did the exact same thing as you...but that was really it for my night.
