If it were mine, I'd probably remove the current ferrule, shorten the shaft by 1/8" to remove the crack, and install a new ferrule and tip. Just my $0.02

Having a hard time finding a high-quality wrap supplier. All of the embossed leather wraps I've gotten lately are very stiff and very difficult to install with a decent seam. I'm primarily looking for EE and Snakeskin.

Given my background, I have to assume that the costs to produce are primarily associated with the manufacturing process of the fabric itself, not the dye color. I am 100% willing to admit that I may be wrong about this, but I suspect that I am not, thus happy to be proven wrong.

That size table, go with the 860, you can get whatever color you like. I had grey and loved it. I went up to a 9' table and moved to a more humid environment so went with 860HR in blue for it. Great table. I, like you, wish more color options were available, I miss the grey.

I recently ran into a repair guy at a tournament who was busy doing tips and ferrules. I didn't recognize the rhombic shape of his cutting tool. He told me it was a VCGT and a total game changer for the cut quality and durability. I've been searching to find these and did find VCGT on Amazon...

I'm new to the whole Cue Making process (2-1/2 years). As I've posted before, I do NOT consider myself a cue maker despite making and selling a few dozen merry widows and tons of shafts. I have the usual suspects, CueMan Deluxe with ball screw feed, live threading, taper setup, drill press...

I use 220 grit paper, and the bed of my lathe (best hard and flat surface I have). Push down on the tip and do figure-8. Clean both tip and ferrule with IPA. Lightly score both the ferrule and tip before final glue up. Never lost a tip in hundreds installed.
