When I played at the US Open in October I spoke with the owner of Accu-Stats and he said that if you want to be a great pool player you can't have a relationship, you can't have family and you need to practice 8-10 hours/day. I am finding that statement to be the truth the more I try to better...

I agree with that but if a person was already into pool before the relationship and the significant other knew that from the start, in this case I would have to say the relationship destroyed the game.

Peppersauce, I just recovered my table/rails with the same cloth as before. The rails play a bit different now but as the cloth gets broken in they will be back to the same. To answer your question on what kind of rails are on my table, I took a picture.

Using the magic rack is not cheating. At the US Open everyone used the magic rack and when racking we could pattern rack but the 2 ball had to be at the very bottom of the rack like the 1 ball at the top.
