    Pool fads?

I saw something similar years ago for someone who didn’t have a full left arm. I remember it looking a bit different. But same idea.

Are there any books with 8 ball patterns?

I don’t believe it was ever in book form….. But is Jimmy Reid’s stuff available streaming or anything? It used to be dvd and he had an 8 ball one.

    Pool fads?

A more fair comparison would be an 11.8 revo and a Z shaft. IMO, the allure for the 12.4 revo is you get the low deflection that in years past required a sub 12mm shaft. Now you get it with a 12.4 which is good for those who preferred 12mm + As far as someone new, I would universally recommend...

    Pool fads?

I’ll actually be surprised if non CF shafts aren’t considered a “fad” in about 10-20 more years. Watched people say LD wood shafts were a gimmick and wouldn’t last. I expect this to be no different. Another 20 years and seeing someone with a regular maple shaft will be like seeing a pay phone.

What are the newest/most current training aids?

Yet, with a projector, once you have it programmed in, you will be exponentially faster in the future. Take two instructors or two players who are putting in hours upon hours on a table. The instructor or player with the projector will save literally hundreds of hours over the course of their...

What are the newest/most current training aids?

I’d equate projection systems to power windows. Sure, it does the same thing as rolling your window down. But I’m not interested in roll down windows anymore. I’ll take 500 drills loaded into a projector over the same 500 in a book that I have to set up. But, will the projector make you a...

What are the newest/most current training aids?

I’d venture to say that anyone under a 650-700 Fargo either doesn’t know where or doesn’t hit the cue ball where they think. So, simply by default, if you’re not at that level, you can benefit from this. A clean ball + chalk spot can greatly help show you where you are deficient. And it’s...

What are the newest/most current training aids?

Awesome. I saw a basic projector that looked really cool. I’ll check out the one that tracks. That seems petty ideal with being as modern as possible with our training.

What are the newest/most current training aids?

So, when I was last active, the training aids at the time were things like: - BreakRak - Stroke Trainer - Spider - Joe Tucker products Etc etc I’ve seen the DigiCue which seems interesting. What other training aids are the current and/or most popular? (No need on arguing about if some work...

    What do you do when...

Be better at safety play and shooting off the rail. Otherwise, it’s actually an issue of getting out of your own way. Obviously some days the rolls just don’t go our way. But in the long run, it’s much more about the shots presented after that we don’t execute properly.

    Pool fads?

Are phenolic ferrule/tip combos still a big thing? Seems now what I mostly see are normal ferrules with either a hard leather tip, phenolic tip, or some other hybrid leather/epoxy or material like g10. For a while there about 10 years ago the one piece ferrule/tip was very popular.

    Pool fads?

Anyone remember the “billiards workbook”? Back before things like kindle…..every book was obviously paper. This thing was probably 4” thick of nothing but drills. To be fair, some of them were the same drill, just slightly longer. But the thing was huge and had tons of drills.

Any pros still playing with Ex Pro?

Like most things in life, we tend to want to assign meaning to things. Sometimes there is, but mostly, it’s just fairly random. The amount of players sponsored by either predator or mezz are incredibly low sample sizes. It could literally be dumb luck (random) that the mezz players prefer a...

Matchroom Sport in Talks to Sell Minority Stake Worth $215M

Fairly simple. Their pool side is either making money or they are expecting it to. Or it serves a positive financial purpose for them somehow. Or it doesn’t. More money/investors won’t all of a sudden change that. As investors are either investing because the like what a company is doing, or...

The never ending quest for the perfect cue (long, boring rant).

What is likely the case is it’s the “chase” that really interests you. Very common. And nothing wrong with it. But, it simply won’t go away as people suggest “just go play” or “it’s the Indian.” As more than likely, you are just associating the chase with pool as that’s your chosen hobby. If...
