Just got kicked out from tourney

Since he’s apologizing and such, maybe suggest a compromise. You’ll only play every other week, every three weeks, or once a month. Sucks. But better to play the tournament less if you want to, than not playing at all.

Just got kicked out from tourney

Almost no one every complains face to face or to the person they are complaining about. I’ve run matches/tournaments in many games/sports. The amount of complaining after the event and privately is always there. It’s just almost never made public. Either way, you’ve posted several examples...

Just got kicked out from tourney

Just how it goes. Anytime money is involved and it’s not a pro level event, if someone keeps winning, there is a real chance that at some point they may lose attendance. Or people just start complaining. Happens with small cash local poker tournaments all the time. Eventually you either get...

What is the best pool cue joint/pin type?

I take that with a grain of salt. The uniloc radial pin was built from scratch via work between an aeronautics/medical/defense/semi-conductor professional and Bill Stroud. They could have chose whatever thread pitch/count and pin diameter they wanted.

Could this be the Future of Pool?

In the end, the PGA Tour is a business. Albeit a non profit, but it’s still going to be run like most any business. If competition for a business shows up an threatens to take market share, other businesses will do what they can to stop it. Just the way the world works. If pool were to ever...

Carbon Fiber Shafts should be Banned

Nothing to do with what I posted…..at all. I didn’t comment on the performance.

Carbon Fiber Shafts should be Banned

If the argument is that a young player can’t afford a $3-500 shaft, then the same argument should be made they shouldn’t be spending their time and money playing pool either. That same $300 doesn’t buy much food or table time. If they can afford one, they can afford the other.

    Ebony question

I’m usually not much for bright colors, but that’s a good looking cue.

    Thoughts on Calcutta/Tournament Issue

While unfortunate…..for the most part if you know a player well enough to buy them for any significant amount of money…..you likely also know if they are reliable or not. Kinda a buyer beware thing. Now, if you’re the person running the auction, you’ll likely want to protect your customers. So...

Rocket's Thoughts on Snooker Payouts and Incentives for Lower-Tier Players

Been pondering this off and on for years. As well as another game I play that suffers from some similar issues. The best I can come up with is just culture in the US isn’t “built” to care about any kind of billiards as a spectator sport. Obviously in the UK and such, snooker doesn’t suffer...

    Emily Frazer/ 9 ball Fix

How about we make teams, put them in jerseys, make an arena somewhere (maybe Vegas), only use half the pockets for each team, maybe use something like three color balls. I’d call it “extra ball” or something like that. I think it could work.

Who have been the best 9 ball players in the last 20 years?

There’s probably quite a few realizing that 20 years is early 2000’s and we getting old AF. Lol I still automatically think 80/90’s when people say 20 years ago. Then I realize and cry a little.

    New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Basically new. Played a lot in the late 90’s and to late 2000’s. Then found more money in poker and that killed most of my playing. Then decided to actually get a real job. Now I’m in Texas with a job and another business. Starting to play again. But everything is completely different as far...

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

Small table, big pockets, fairly large gap in skill level. That basically means it’s almost a free roll. No need to play some jam up safe. If you make a ball, you stay at table and run more or out. If you don’t, fair chance you’re getting back to the table anyway. It’s like a better poker...

I travel up towards San Antonio and Houston. Looking for 9ft tables that play well. Good tables is much more important...
