Which is why we don’t have a flat tax rate. The ultra rich may only pay single digit % on certain taxes. But they will pay more in taxes one time than most people actually get paid their entire life. In the grand scheme a single person’s 25% tax is completely insignificant than a single rich...

    Shaft Forgiveness

You need to go back to school then. 10% is only significant when the 100% the 10% is part of is significant. Actual values matter. 10% isn’t the same when you’re talking actual applicable and applied numbers. I could give you 10% of a dollar or I could give you 10% of $100,000 dollars.

    Shaft Forgiveness

And again, it depends. If I’m making $40k/yr, I’m not going to tell him no, but $215 extra on a pay check every two weeks isn’t going to get anyone excited. But if I make $100k/yr, $14k per year, $500/check is all of a sudden something. If someone pays 10% tax on $1mil, and another pays 25%...

    Shaft Forgiveness

This is not good logic. 10% of something insignificant is still insignificant is the point. Let’s say 10 people die from some made up crazy disease. And you spend 200 million dollars to find a way that saves 10%. You just spent 200 million to save one person when you could have spent 200...

    Shaft Forgiveness

Now, giving someone who *does* hit the cue where they want a smaller shaft *may* allow them to be more specific where they hit the cue ball. But, that would have more to do with visuals. I.E. they can see more of the tip area that contacts and move their aim on the cue ball less than with a...

    Shaft Forgiveness

Here’s a *NOT* to scale example. This is a dime. The same principle applies to a nickel shape. All you’re doing is changing the outside thickness/diameter of the shaft. The only way a thicker shaft would be more forgiving on where you strike the cue ball, would he if the tip is contacting the...

    Shaft Forgiveness

It’s fairly simple geometry. 11, 12, 13mm tips don’t change enough surface area to make any impact on the precision of a hit. The accuracy part is on you. Pretty much all tip sizes will have the same precision potential, but not all players will have the same accuracy (specifically using...

Up Will consider trades (up or down with cash depending). Must be radial pin. And I prefer darker woods.

Yep. 10% of something very small is something even smaller. This link *should* clear everything up. https://billiards.colostate.edu/faq/cue-tip/size-and-shape/

Should accuracy lines be drawn on pool tables?

I mean, are you going to be doing anything extremely serious with the tables? More so then practice and such? If not, I’d just pick another battle.

Ignore Bait: Highest IQ, Many Questions, Odds makers invited...

Shit. Nvm. I didn’t realize who I was responding to. Lol. All your posts sound intelligent but end up just running off the rails without providing a point or any data to back it up. The most successful people in the world rarely work off “feel” or “gut.” They may look into those feelings, but...

Yea. This has been stated several times in the thread. For whatever reason, people feel disinclined to change their minds and many times they will openly criticize others for changing opinions and other such things. This is very evident when both the left and right political sides post videos...

End of the WPA Russia Ban

Also, take notice that even though they were allowed to compete in the US Open Tennis, the decision was based on (IMO, the right decision) not holding them responsible for their country’s actions. Had their legal council agreed it was a civil rights violation, they would have included that in...

End of the WPA Russia Ban

Completely different scenarios. And the fifa lawsuit was settled, which you definitely know doesn’t mean the case would have been lost. You also know that case law regarding racial discrimination is likely to not be applied the same to what amounts to sanctions over a country’s political...

Infinity definitely has value in the proper concept. And he’s absolutely correct that infinity would by default include anything that has a probably over zero. Though I don’t think this conversation is the proper context. But, it’s a true statement nonetheless.

Ummmm, no. That all changed around 2005 or so. Math is a much, much bigger role than any psychology. At least at the stakes 99% play at. Nosebleed stakes can be a bit different. But anything less than $500/$1k can easily be won via properly putting opponents on hand ranges and the proper EV.

End of the WPA Russia Ban

Pretty easy to say: “today the facilities are only open to participants registered for XYZ competition and spectators.” So, the only people allowed to participate would be registered with the WPA. The Russians would be welcome as spectators. The establishment or Tournament director in the US...

End of the WPA Russia Ban

I think you’ll be hard pressed to get a court to agree that means an organization can’t bar them from their competitions. The line would be not letting them into the establishment itself, or segregating them within the establishment. They can’t bar them from coming inside. But they can bar...
