    Best table...

if you are looking at new tables and prepared to spend a bit, how about contacting this smaller manufacturer and restorer? I think you'd stand a way better chance of getting an actually well made table here , than by buying yet another offshore made piece of garbage clone table. He seems...

    Best table...

a lot of the older tables were constructed with rail bolts places horizantally, No it didn't "kill the slates" I'm not sure why you would even think that.. mine is over 110 years od and still "alive" ;-) the main point there is a lot of energy can be lost or that better bounce...

It might be wise to be a little cautious when others are trying to sell you a bridge on here.

    Best table...

the bounce the rail provides has a lot to do with how it is attached to the slate, by design.. On some tables the rails go through the slate from the top and on better ones the rails are locked in to the slate itself by way of bolts that are horizantal.. Attaching this way adds the weight...

How is a ferrule professionally repaired? (Mezz WX700)

I would have approached it by turning down the wood as little as possible. measuring that then making the ferrule up myself to fit, and I personally dont see the reason for needing threads.. But listen to the other guys, The cue makers.. Its not what I do.. It is what they do.. so... I'm...

Dominant Eye before any aiming system

I think its a good excuse to video myself and see that way what I do naturally.. I know my left eye is way more dominant so I might turn my head to compensate somewhat and maybe that is just how i naturally react.. I'm also physically unable to close my left eye and not close my right eye...

How is a ferrule professionally repaired? (Mezz WX700)

often i use a heat gun to strip paint around windows There I find a piece of aluminum flashing is handy as a heat deflector. Too much heat can break a window,, you might do similar and roll up a piece of aluminum , even just some foil.. it distributes heat away nicely, aluminum has good heat...

Dominant Eye before any aiming system

vision center might move if one tilts their head or rotates their eyeballs away from square ahead.. but I guess BBB is looking of r a direct response from Patrick , maybe in trying to make some point directly to him more clear,, I tried to google "vision center" and it directs me to eye...

Dominant Eye before any aiming system

I think maybe an archer or rifleman may just use one eye when aiming but maybe there is one here that can answer better.. that might not be the same if you are shooting guns from the hip like on gunsmoke ;-) I dont think archers use the arrow itself as a sight, they showed us some sights...

Dominant Eye before any aiming system

point at some distant object and call it your target. Without moving your head or your pointing finger, close one eye and note how far your pointing finger is off from the target. then close the other eye and see the difference.. probably one eye is stronger, that's your dominant eye.. the...

How is a ferrule professionally repaired? (Mezz WX700)

maybe a heat gun rather than a flame.. ? Tenon comes form the wood joint "mortise and tenon" , but in this case they are referring to a round one.. Try googling "round tenon" then the term will make more sense.

What are the most stable and playable cue wood?

most wood species have subspecies. as an example this page shows 13 species of maple.. https://www.thespruce.com/thirteen-species-of-maple-trees-3269671 another factor is how big the tree is and how it grew. an old growth tree that grew up in a forest, had to compete for light and grew less...

    Ferrule glue experiment

I dont retip cues so I dont see why its done this way, from a machinist point of view if I wanted to change that ferrule. first I'd true up the stick so it's concentric and then make a ferrule that actually fits well. I wouldn't expect every stick I got to be very exact, especial if others...

    Ferrule glue experiment

if you want to dye epoxy , i'd use either a product made for that as posted above , or a powder like this: https://www.mohawk-finishing.com/products/wood-touch-up-repair/color-replacement/blendal-powder-stain-pigment-type/ the epoxy cures by chemical reaction, if you go adding oil based...

If you want new rubber , why not just order it and watch a few youtube videos on how to remove your old rubber glue the new stuff on, and how to stretch your cloth over the rails and staple it on there.. This isn't exactly rocket science or a "new" thing.. You can can do it yourself if you...
