Bring your own billiard balls to pool hall

Stories of tables with protruding nails/staples/metal obejcts has made me reconsider bringing my own equipment. Though if the balls are bad enough I still MIGHT bring an old CB. Plus I’ve left a ball behind once and there’s always a chance of having them mysteriously disappear during a...

    Is this a Gold Crown?

Spitballing here, but could be a Continental. The legs aren’t visible with all the stuff stored underneath that example.

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I cycle between a number of sets. My favorites are Centennials and Dynasphere Platinums. They seem to hit and roll to my liking. I’d rank mine like this: Centennial Dynasphere Platinum Aramith Black Aramith Tournament Aramith Premier Dynasphere Bronze Dynasphere Tungsten All the above...

    Pagulayan Chalk Allergy??

I use both V10 and Pagulayan green. No allergy and/or any other issues. In addition, no contact or respiatory reactions to any chalk for that matter.

Pool jersey's, love 'em or hate 'em..??

Fine for the Mosconi Cup and other team events. Otherwise no. Ostentatious.

    Willie Mosconi Instructional Video

Cancel my previous post, I was thinking about the Mosconi vs Caras dinner match on Accu-Stats. Apparently the YT account that uploaded both this instructional video and the Mosconi-Caras exhibition was banned. Maybe this copy will fill the void in the meantime.

Simonis Cloth for Gold Crown IV

That GC I restomod reminds me of this. This blacked out look is the rage lately. I’d say go grey cloth if that’s what appealing to you! You’re the one that has to play on it.

    Recommendation: Pool Table Light ?

I switched to the perimeter light recently after playing under the old can/pendant lights for decades. - The perimeter light doesn’t light up the entire room/walls/pictures/other hung personal affects much as I thought it would. - The perimeter light gives even light across the entire table...

    Best Gold Crown to buy

The gloss black/chrome look always seemed like a bad idea. Fingerprint and dirt magnets. Not to mention glare/glint from light. I guess it’s ok for limited residential use or for those adept at auto detailing.

    GC5 Tournament Edition pocket sizes

You come to my place and I have equipment options. 😄 How about these instead: @rexus31 I measured using a ruler and I’m estimating these are 4 9/16” pockets. Admittedly it’s difficult photographing the measurement accurately. Then again, I tried measuring using Greg Sullivan’s method...

Very Best Pool Video Instruction: Free or Paid?

I saw major improvements after watching ‘A Pool Lesson with Jerry Briesath’ which I paid for and is the most comprehensive video course I’ve found. There are many pointers that I practice each time at the table to keep my fundamentals in check. The only thing better than his video course would...

    Perimeter vs Lite Systems

I picked up the Perimeter light. At 56” above the table I get 900-1000 lux across the table which seems bright enough considering the WPA recommends only 517 minimum. What height are other perimeter style light owners setting theirs to? I was think raising another 5” to the max 60” height as...

Drop pocket vs. gully... what is your preference and why?

Drop for home = quieter. Also easier to keep everything clean I imagine.
