Pics of pool table is this how they are?

Cues, balls, triangles used cloth and most accessories from a bar I wouldn't even care about. Those in the pictures I would leave with the current owner or figure on tossing them out. The table itself is what I would be concerned about and I would have to see it in person to determine if it is...

What the desired size in a shaft ? what is your prefernce.

I prefer staying close to 13 mm. I have a couple shafts that are 13.5 which is ok for a heavy oversize tavern cue ball but even then I prefer 13mm or a little less. I once had a Huebler sneaky pete with a14 mm shaft. THAT was too big! Didn't keep that cue more than a couple weeks as I didn't...

Amen to that! I wouldn't spend much at all on a cue I have never hit a ball with. I have a Rich Chudy cue with two shafts the same size. One shaft has a hit that is just amazing to me, The other is nothing special. I have no idea why there is such a difference between them. I would also suggest...

It was just 69 years ago tomorrow

47 years ago tomorrow I got my first pool cue from a girlfriend I later married. I still have that pool cue. I got rid of her after just a couple years! That says a lot about pool cues, don't it?!

    Roger Pettit Story

Yup, nicest guy ever. he has some pretty crazy stories from when he was younger!! I have one of his sneaky Pete cues that is older than that! Anyone know how to get in touch with Roger? I have a couple of cues I would like him to take a look at.

How many of you own a sneaky pete?

I had one of those back then about 1990. It was one of the top 3 best hitting cues I have ever had and I have had a few!! I sold it to someone who thought as much of it as I did for a stupid high price that I couldn't refuse. Generally I don't like Meucci cues but a Sneaky Pete isn't like the...

How many of you own a sneaky pete?

I have owned several sneaky Pete cues over the years. Still have two of them. I just have always liked them. I don't like cues that are very ornate. Prefer a very traditional look.

    Cuetec pin size question

Looks like the pin was changed somewhere along the way. The intermediate pin is a 3/8 14 but not the pin for the shaft. Anyone's guess as to why it was changed. Oh well!

    Cuetec pin size question

I had a Cuetec jump/break cue butt and both pins in it are 3/8 10. All I see poking around the internet is Cuetec using a 3/8 14 pin. Does anyone know if they commonly used a 3/8 10 pin at one time? I am suspecting that this one is a much older Cuetec cue and they did back then. The issue came...

Advice on what to do with these cues

I just went through the same thing with about 40 pool cues. here's what I found. First thing is to weigh each cue and measure the shafts as everyone wants to know that much for sure. Also roll the cues and shafts looking for taper roll or actual warping. I used those round dot stickers and put...

How long to pick a favorite cue?

I have 6 favorite cues. Most favorite is a Rich Chudy cue and a Huebler H-11 from the Renaissance catalog in the 80's. Switch between them often. Hit a few balls and I am good. You will know when you find an exceptional cue that is for you...And then later on you will find another one. I can...

    Mystery Jump Break Cue

I have a jump break cue with a signature of the cue maker on it that is a mystery to me. I can't read it and though someone here on AZB would recognize it...maybe? So far you guys are 3 for 3 on other signatures I couldn't read! it is a bit faded on the cue and difficult to get a good picture...

TCOM - Crushed Velvet McKernan case

What happened to Pat anyway? I know he died several years ago but have never heard what caused his death. I used to see him around town here in Seattle once in a while. His book was the first book I ever bought on pool. When I was new to playing pool he fixed a cheapo cue for me when the tip...
