    Jonny Lang song about pool

Likewise. And that was what about 20+ years ago?! How about Dirty Pool by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Not really a song about pool, he just references it in the song.

    APA rule question

You are usually best off getting your turn at the table as soon as possible to control the game. Sometimes you see in that situation something good in letting him foul. You may see he is going to break up a cluster that is nearly hopeless for you to break up. You are taking your chances as it...

    Worst case od slow-playing

I know a guy like that. It has been that way with him since I first met in in the mid 80's. Not uncommon to get close to 30 strokes every time he is at the table. We used to count them to see if he would break any records. Painful to watch or play against guys like that. It will only hurt your...

    Preparing cues for shipping

Just wondering what your thoughts are on preparing a pool cue for shipping. I haven't done any yet but have a pile of them to sell and probably most of them will be shipped. They are part of a friends estate. What long boxes or shipping tubes do you use? What do you wrap them in? If you don't...

Your first ( good ) cue

1981 vertical logo Huebler H1 with black butt and joint. Sold it later to one of the local regular players for $75. He came by the tavern and picked it up, went home and leaned it up by his dresser in his room and had to go out on errands. When he got back home, his dog had found the new wood...

    ID a McDermott?

Thanks. I didn't think of that so I just did. We'll see what they say about it.:)

    Help ID Cue, Please. ...Palmer?

It kinda comes down to how much you like the looks of cue, how how well you feel it plays for you and just what it cost you. It is nice to know who or what company made it though! Not knowing drives me nuts! I have two custom made cues with Hoppe rings on them that I really like but have no...

    ID a McDermott?

I sure can't! Looked through all their catalogs online of discontinued cues (and current models) and just don't see it anywhere, nor any that are similar. It has their lifetime warranty sticker still on it. I don't know when they started doing that. Kind of odd the way they did what I would...

    Glasses

Spex4less glasses review. I got out for a while and played using the glasses yesterday. I was on a 9 ft table that sits a little lower than most. The glasses are a big improvement but not perfect. The focus at the cue ball is better and tolerable. The focus at any pocket distance is very good...

    Glasses

There are always doctors etc. that just want to do the easy stuff. But there are those who are willing to take on a challenge and see it through to the end. Those are the good guys. Guys like Curran know the problem and how to make it work for you. They have a willingness to go out of their way...

    Glasses

Gloves? Wash yer freakin' hands once in a while! But who gives a rat about what anyone thinks about you anyway? Worries about that is a sign of your own insecurities. The only thing that matters in a pool hall is how many balls you can make. I'll be out later today with the glasses to play...

    Glasses

I ordered the glasses from Spex4less on June 30th and they arrived today on July 9. That is pretty quick I would say from the UK. They come in a good enough case. They are very light weight. I tried them on and they fit fine. I haven't been out to play pool with them yet but just checking them...

    willie mosconi article from 1989

I think every hustler I have ever met has been heard telling someone that when they were kids they taped paper bags to the kitchen table and shot at oranges with broomsticks. I don't see potatoes rolling very true!!

Bobble heads for pro pool players?

    Glasses

That would be a good deal if insurance covers them! I have already used up my insurance getting glasses before I retired. I could get them every 2 years which worked okay since I started needing them about 10 years ago. Could get just a checkup every year. Now retired so no coverage for glasses...

    Glasses

With the non reflection coating and shipping it came to $130.24 USD. Reading the reviews, I saw that most complaints were that the rims were kinda flimsy but most didn't seem to really care much since they were only using them for billiards and not wearing them for everyday wear. They appear to...

    Glasses

Yeah...I finally broke down and ordered the same glasses. As much as I like the Curran glasses they are more than I care to pay since I don't get out all that often anyway. If I was playing as much as I used to I might do differently. I'll have to report on them after I use them a bit.
