    Bring Back Hustling Culture

People lose at pool it is poor skills. When they lose in the casino it is attributed to bad luck. At pool their friends are watching. They are anonymous in the casino. Ego is bruised when they lose in the pool hall.

Glen, it is common knowledge that a very high number of cue makers end up in mental institutions. May be true for table mechanics also. If we meet again at Western State I hope you can play checkers with foam rubber checkers. We can talk about the good old days. Take care Glen. Your friend Roger...

    Hardtimes, Bellflower, California

The Billiard Tavern was upstairs in downtown S. D. Played there in the 80's when Dick Megivern was running it. About 36 Gold Crowns. Maybe 8 Valley bar tables. One beautiful Kling in a viewing pit. Lots of action. Roger

    3/8x16 Headless Weight Bolts

They are called socket head set screws. You need to use two minimum locked together. I like the stainless steel myself. They cost a little more, but won't rust. They are available in many lengths. Three inches are about one ounce.

"Papa Pete" Glenn Has Passed Away...

Will never forget being tortured by Pete playing bank pool at the 211 Club in the 80's. Back and under was the call as he fired the balls into the pocket. He offered to flip for what he was ahead but I didn't take him up on it. A perfect gentleman and a pleasure to play. Roger

    Cortland Linen Cue

I have original Cortland #256 and a remake from the 90's that was done for Tad. Don't pay a bundle for it. It is nice, but not that much different than the others. How wrap is pressed is a big factor. I got the Cortland from Bert Schrager in 1985 while working in his shop. Roger
