    Pine sol for cleaning cues

Does anyone use pine sol on their cues after playing sessions? I have a diluted spray bottle that I use on my golf clubs. Don't think it would hurt the wood. Used cue specific cleaners that leave a funny texture in the past. Not talking about refinishing, just basic wipe down after a long...

Cue builders with pins in the shaft

I think it's no different depending on how deep is threaded into the shaft

Cue builders with pins in the shaft

Can anyone contribute names or pictures of cuemakers that put pins in the shaft? I know Robinson and some of the old schoolers did. Who's modern that does it? Common in carom games

What does pumping the cue over and over up in the air before their shot do for the pros?

This, and I always thought it was a speed feel thing. Both good players do this and bad players (who try to copy good players) I've seen some hilarious preshot routines. Exaggerated step-in, lifting and slapping the cloth with bridge hand right before shooting. 50 practice strokes, or none at...

Cochrans in San Franciso, some of their Best Players!

Mcgoorty talks about Cochran's in his book if I remember right. Weren't there separate floors for pool snooker and carom games? Talk about separating the wheat from the chaff. Only gentleman played billiards from the sounds of it

    Rafael Martinez.....??

He used to hang around the joint cue in Sacramento when I worked there. Regret not playing with him. He wasn't the type to hand out lessons, and I was a small fry back then so not much incentive for him I guess.

Paul Allers makes a decent cue. I was surprised by the way the butterflies affected the balance in a good way. Easy to get adjusted. I may post this for sale if a local friend doesn't want it.

What is a good way for a low-level player to handle unwanted advice?

I had someone tell me how to shoot a stop shot once in a bar. Ended up playing for a beer. I like free beer.

What is a good way for a low-level player to handle unwanted advice?

I think women get more advice than a man of the same skill level. I'm sure it's f*cking annoying. I sometimes offer advice, but always follow it up with, "please tell me to shut up if you don't want to hear it". I love the game and could talk for hours, but I am self aware enough to know it...
