    Rules for an APA league

I would think your LO enters matches between rounds at your City Tournament, tho... We have a Tri Cup tourney here after each session, with the playoff teams from each division facing off to qualify teams to compete at our State Tourney (equivalent to your City tournament). Our LO enters...

    Rules for an APA league

Up until a very short time ago, the team that we played last night could have taken advantage of there not being that "2 Senior Players Only" rule... Their SL1 recently went up to SL2, if she was still SL1 they could have fielded 7 7 6 2 1 . And this team also has a 9 on it, as well...tho...

    Rules for an APA league

My guess is that because marking the 8 is standard APA stuff, it's not mentioned on this LO's pre-tourney sheet.

    Rules for an APA league

I've been playing APA 15 years now, and they've always entered the results and updated between rounds in tournaments like the one described here. And more than once I've seen a team have a player whose Skill Level went up and no one on the team noticed it on the sheet for the next round, until...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

My Summer Session was a tale of two disciplines, alright.... In 8-ball, I was 8 out of 10 (and should have been 9, grrrr), good for 5th place. Best I've done in a very long time. In 9-ball, I was 1 out of 6... tied for 84th place. Yuck. Its super frustrating to be so inconsistent.

    Rules for an APA league

As others have stated, these are pretty common tournament rules. Most of them are standard, regularAPA league rules. The food/drink rule is specific to that room, not an actual league rule. To clarify the second rule that is highlighted in yellow in the OP, some players play on multiple teams...

Outside Pro Players in Billiard Magazines... Who on AZBilliards has articles in Local Newspapers or Local Magazine Written about Them??

I think our APA team had a blurb in the paper before we went to Nationals :ROFLMAO:

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Our 8-ball team finished 1 point out of 3rd place this session. Of course only the top 3 (plus a wild card) get into the session end playoffs, and the tri cup to qualify for states. 1 point.... two week ago, I was playing an SL4 on the team we were behind in the standings. I was up on him...

MatchRoom's response to the WPA player sanctions:

My observation, from my 14-15 years of reading about pool here on AZB... Many, many people lamented that pool wasn't marketed and promoted as well as snooker. Until it began to be... I find that interesting

I've seen many pro players posting this memo on Facebook, and appreciating it.

7ft Diamond, to stroke or "dink"

I tend to hit more softly than others, which is fine for 8 ball, most of the time, but it doesn't help me in 9 ball. Of course, this is also on 9's, so perhaps it would affect me less on the 7's... I usually have more issues from trying to hit harder, so I sacrifice shape for accuracy.

Just got home from Vegas APA

While I understand that, and can agree in general principal, the one time my team went to Vegas, we didn't all become world beaters while playing on 7' Valleys, even after playing primarily on 9' Diamonds at home. It was funny to see the other teams faces when we told them that's what we...

Just got home from Vegas APA

We play APA at a room with ten 9' Diamonds...not the league cut versions. Not as tough as 4 1/4, either (tho there are two of those tables in the back that occasionally we'll end up using if too many teams are running late) but regular Diamonds, and we can get some pretty long matches, not just...

Open- or closed-bridge hand and gloves?

One wonders if that Matchroom might not have let him have a towel attached to his person...cuz it sure seems to me to make more sense to have it stuck in his belt or something, rather than running back to his chair every shot. I presume Matchroom has a pretty specific dress code, and maybe a...

    APA World Champs!

Exactly. During regular weekly play, I want to win but I want people to enjoy playing pool too. What fun is it for a 2 or 3 to just rack, and maybe kick every so often, when thrown against a 7/9? And what fun is it for the 7/9 to have to beat up on a beginner, cuz if they let that player get...

Just got home from Vegas APA

Very cool, glad you had a good time. My Facebook Memories today showed a photo of the one time our 8-ball team got to go, 5 years ago, having dinner before our flight. Such great memories, makes me really wanna go again.
