Benefits of joining an APA league?

I expect that complicates the process...you'd have to get St. Louis involved, I suspect. If they made it too easy and simple, it would be abused, because, well...people suck. And then that makes it more difficult for those who it genuinely applies to. It's a shame, all around.

Matchroom Major Event-European Open (8-13 Aug), Fulda, Winner $30K Prizefund $200K

That would suck, for SVB to run into Sky at a big tourney like that a second time in a short span...

Benefits of joining an APA league?

Locked in because you're played in Vegas as a 7? Short of that, I thought there was a way to appeal your Skill Level due to medical issues...I'm not certain I recall how a Vegas-locked Skill Level would be treated. Sorry they aren't working with you more...

    Rule I’m not sure about

APA doesn't require calling a pocket, other than marking the pocket you intend to shoot the 8-ball in (in 8-ball, of course). If it's your ball and it falls, it counts and you keep shooting. (So long as you hit one of yours first, and didn't scratch.) APA rules are different than most other...

    APA World Champs!

During regular league session, I always try and match up closely, if I can manage it, cuz I feel its better for the players involved. (Especially the 7/9's...they usually wanna play other players their level, at least around here.) But playoffs and higher level tourneys, ya gotta do what...

    Rule I’m not sure about

You are correct re doing that in APA. From what I recall of other rulesets, it seems to be possible and legal, but that's just from my memory. APA, no.

    APA World Champs!

If the 7's are as strong as is claimed, I'd be pretty certain to be throwing off on whoever else they play. The most those two 7's can get is 6 points, so you need to take your chances with the three other players

Benefits of joining an APA league?

If you truly believe the LO is "in cahoots" with someone that can do something, you probably ought to play somewhere else. If you only have 5 matches in the system, it's going to vary, for a while. The computer needs data. Once you get a decent amount of matches in, it will stabilize more...

    Pool returns to ESPN….

All the events on The Ocho are coming from one facility, so I suspect an arena wasn't possible. https://www.cityofrockhill.com/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/51195/453?curm=8&cury=2023#:~:text=ESPN8%3A%20The%20Ocho%20returns%20to,of%2011%20sports%20are%20featured

    Pool returns to ESPN….

They mentioned several times that in a regular pro version of this game they would only use 3 pockets. They also referenced Bonus Ball. It was done as an exhibition, to show people how it's played. I'd watch it, if it was on and I had time available. I dont think it's "the answer", but I also...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

I've somehow turned my game around to the point where I'm playing reasonably well. Not a world beater, but playing pretty well, much of the time. An amazing change from the several months of extreme struggles. The other night I was playing a guy I've never seen before, new to our division...

    Pool returns to ESPN….

Several years ago, the movie Dodgeball was out and quite popular. In that movie, the national Dodgeball Championships were being aired on ESPN Ocho, a send up of the fact that at the time, ESPN had several networks on cable stations around the country, including ESPN 1 and ESPN 2, with more...

Do you like to watch bad pool games?

I like to watch a match where the pro's don't get out every time. A bit of a struggle, then overcoming it. Not "bad" pool, but not perfect pool either

Question. There's one team in my local 8 ball league that uses the Black TV ball set.

Just call your LO. We know what the rules say, but obviously this team is still doing it. Perhaps it's a Bylaw in your LOs territory. They will be the one to provide the final answer.

Can I question my Fargo rating?

I'm just an interested observer to all this, but tell me this, what is the robustness of your teammate and the others who are winning 75% like you? If I understand it correctly, the fewer games you have in the system, the more your rating is apt to move, compared to those with more games in the...

Pool shirts with one short sleeve and one long sleeve

Many NBA players have been wearing one sleeve for several years now, for a variety of individual reasons. As well as fashion. Beats me. 😉

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Somehow I've won twice in one week...can't remember the last time that happened. I was playing an SL4. so its not earth shattering. He gave me far more opportunities than I deserved. Still. I closed the deal. Actually, I closed the match with a break and run, a big rarity for me...

Rubbing the cue against your chest while down aiming/stroking

I try to make sure my cue is up against the side of my body when lining things up, I don't bend over enough for it to be touching my chest. That's been one of the things I've been trying to make sure of in my mental checklist to be in the right shooting position, for me.

    Professional level according to Fargo

Perhaps that would happen in 8-ball, SL7 being the max. In APA 9-ball, I haven't seen an SL9 around here that was under 600. Admittedly, we don't have a lot of SL9's, either

how are ya'll doing in league ?

I've written often enough about how awful I've been playing, may as well note that I had a decent night for a change ;) Not world beating, not a shutout, won 4-1. Just a decent night. And believe me when I say, that was sooo welcome. Mechanics, mechanics, mechanics. We'll see if I can...
