    Diamond Table Wait Time

They will do that, or at least the table mechanic/distributer that my son dealt with. He would deliver any pocket size you wanted.

    Diamond Table Wait Time

A good mechanic/distributor will adjust the table to your specs.

    It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Ping . . .

Hard pressed Triangles and a custom Joss. Stiff and a nice ping.

    Diamond Table Wait Time

I guess we got lucky. My son is moving into his house at the end of the month. Three weeks ago he ordered a 9 foot Diamond from a table mechanic who is a distributor and it will be delivered and set up by him on the 15th of July. This mechanic/distributor always has several tables on order from...

The never ending quest for the perfect cue (long, boring rant).

I play with my player. I have 4 identical hard maple shafts for it which I rotate. I am fine with it. It's just comfortable for me, a part of me. Done searching. I'm an Indian not the arrow guy. As I have said may times before, a lights out player will take a stick off the wall and beat everyone...

Learned a one pocket lesson yesterday.

Played a really accomplished one hole player the other day. Pretty frustrating when you are back on your heels for a couple of hours. When you get that shot, better not miss and have a good leave to boot.

Which one is smoother between these two (WITHOUT GLOVES) Revo or Cynergy

Well that settles it. I don't like a glove. I like to feel the shaft running through my fingers (let the jokes begin). I feel like the glove separates you from the cue. Sticking with wood.

    SBX hasn’t issued refunds yet

I signed up for the original EXPO that was canceled due to Covid. I got my refund promptly as did my son.

    How did you learn 14.1?

    That was just textbook beautiful.

    How did you learn 14.1?

Toughest game there is. Staying at the table. I have the greatest admiration for these high run guys. It's not a fluke when a guy runs 200 balls. 14.1 requires an amazing amount of focus and knowledge. Never give up.

    Cue weight?

I had a 19 oz. custom built and don't ever think about the weight. I have 4 identical shafts for the butt that I rotate. I have no idea the weight of the shafts. They just feel comfortable when I am stroking the cue. Never think about the weight of the cue. I just play. I guess I'm just used to...

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

I guess you are saying that you get all of the rolls. Never seen that. In my experience the rolls always change.

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

I think I would bet anyone, a pro included, ten whacks at that shot and bet they would not make it once. No offense I think you got lucky. Duplicate it and try to do it again. That's a pure one pocket maneuver and very inventive one at that. You must be a good one pocket player and if not you...

    Carom tables in Canada?

I would like to see 5x10 pocket billiard tables brought back. Before you know it we will have 6 foot tables all over the place. Can fit more into the designated space.

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

Love carom shots. Speed is important in carom shots in case you miss. You don't want to leave a money ball hanging. Played in a call 9 ball tournament last weekend. My opponent called the 9 (combo not carom) and the ball went in his called pocket but not off the combination he played. Hahaha...

    COVID Era 1-2-3

Guess I'm old school. The best drill for me is practicing 14.1. 14.1 is the toughest game in pool. The constant focus it takes to remain at the table is the toughest thing in pool. I mean what could be so tough to run 100 balls? I mean you can shoot any ball you want and you have 6 pockets to...

Thoughts on The Hustler and Color of Money books?

Anybody seen the Netflix limited series "The Queens Gambit?" That was written by Tevis too. Anyhow I have read both books and they were great. I have seen The Hustler and TCOM many many times. They are still the best pool movies out there. The Hustler outshines all of the other pool movies by...

Gray UK Open 9 Ball Cloth or Green Snooker Cloth ?

My home poolroom when I was a kid had grey cloth. One of those "Brunswick family rooms" popular in the 60's. It did revert back into a players room after time though. For the most part everything is Tournament Blue now including my home table. The more matches I watch played on grey cloth the...

    Carom tables in Canada?

Good chance I might have met you there. Do you wear a vest when you play 3C? Yup, Drexeline. He had 2 heated 10 foot Chevillottes. Spent quite a few hours on them. Drexeline has closed by the way. Rumors are one of the housemen at Drexeline is opening a room nearby Bob's old place. We shall see.
