    Carom tables in Canada?

Turning the same way in the states. Pity. Pocket billiards players don't realize how 3 cushion can improve your pocket billiard game. The rails are your friends! Short story. When Expo time came around in Oaks, Pa., the pros used to come in at night to a great room in Phoenixville, Pa. which has...

    Drop pockets or ball return?

Did anybody watch John Schmidt during his 14.1 challenge do one pocket drills trying to make all 15 balls in one pocket? The pocket held at least 12 balls. My GC III holds at least 10. Difficult for a questionable opponent to cheat at one pocket on drop pockets. Not that there are questionable...

High Inside or Low Outside for Position?

Just got the Diamond 9 footers to replace some gold crowns. Surprised me too.

High Inside or Low Outside for Position?

I read posts like that all of the time. I'm lucky that I have a poolroom less than a half hour away with 4 7 foot Diamonds that are level, in good shape, and the balls are run through the machine after every use. I have no excuses hahaha. They have one 8 foot Diamond, 7 9 foot Diamonds, and 3 9...

High Inside or Low Outside for Position?

Have to say bar table play is a different game. The only time I play bar box is about a month before the Expo and I play on Diamonds. Two different games completely especially when you need to let your stroke out on 9 footers. You never ever have to let your stoke out on a 7 foot Diamond. Your...

We all play on tables under varying conditions. That's pool. You know that. Nobody plays in a laboratory. We play in poolrooms.

Apparently not. I thought I did. Please explain.

Yeah, he's just lucky to get up there and run a hundred balls a few times a day. I have to study the tape when this is over. Maybe I will learn to get that lucky.

High Inside or Low Outside for Position?

Depends how exact you like your shape. If you are going for an area then yes.

High Inside or Low Outside for Position?

Use the correct english that will get you the optimal position. One is always better than the other. High or low doesn't matter to me. One is correct and the other is not. That is the only info I need to make the decision.

Thank you for that but I think that it is more like being able to let your unconscious take over. Knowing what to do and then doing it without getting waylaid by extraneous thought. Think about it. We have all played enough and hit enough balls that there isn't a shot on the table we have not...

I am enthralled watching him pocket balls with such confidence. His focus is amazing. I am at a point in my game where getting shape is the easy part. It's the consistent of pocketing balls without losing focus that gets me.

I enjoyed the one pocket drills. I enjoy watching him play. It's easy to put 15 balls in one pocket. Quite a drill. How often to you go 8 and out or 7 and out or 6 and out for that matter?

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

I have a little more respect for the caliber of game of most my opponents. I prefer staying at the table and keeping my opponent in their chair. That being said I will get a little wild if my opponent is an outright banger. Not much to lose.

    Love playing against sloppy players!

How many of you practice "Safe" shots? I do this once a week. Robin gave me practice pages.

I practice safeties constantly. I play the 9 or 10 ball ghost all of the time and safety play is part of that practice as is kick safeing. I practice the way I want to play. Lock up safeties lead to run outs.

John is miked up. You don't like his commentary? I found it very interesting. I do admire his stamina and his abilities.

    Break cues-a discussion-comments welcome

I rotate four shafts on my player. The shafts are identical right down to the length of the taper. They all have hard pressed Triangle tips and I break with my player. I like a hard tip so if it gets a little harder then so be it but I haven't found that to be so. I don't smash the rack as hard...

I said they PROMOTE themselves well. I never mentioned anything about sponsoring anything or anybody. Try reading a little better next time. I still say that Predator is a master at marketing.

9 Ball Hitting Hard and Hoping as a Strategy

Like I said, tie up some balls. It absolutely improves your situation. If your opponent doesn't want to run out then you get back to the table. If he wants to run out then he has clusters to deal with. Getting to and staying at the table is what it is all about and if that's the case then tying...
