trying to identify a cue maker

Anyone ever heard of a cue maker that signs his cues "M. Singer" and then a date? found a 6 point made by him in 1995. Sorry I don't have pics, I will try to get some.

Why does draw seem so mystical?

A couple pieces of advice, since i'm not too far past where you are now. First I would try pickingup a Jim Rempe training cue ball. It helps you learn where to hit on the cue ball, and holds the chalk on teh cue ball well enough that after your shot, you can see if where you aimed for, is...

23 Cues for ID and Sale

Nice set of cues! In your first post you say you are new at this and ask to work with you. The advice I can offer is that once you have a price in mind for each cue you want, update your initial posts with what you are looking for. Keep in mind that the market for cues isnt great right now...

    Dime vs. Nickel radius tip

Honestly it is about personal preference. If it is available to you, you should simply have a second shaft setup with the diameter that you are not using on your playing shaft. Give it a week or two of practices, using both shafts and see if you can tell the difference. There are so many...

Has anyone tried the new G-Core Shaft?

I think i'm going to pick up one of these as well. Though I can't decide which cue to have the ringwork matched to though, either my D18 or my D4/D23 custom.

    cue position

One thing that I have thought of doing to test this, is make a few marks on the collar of my shaft of say 4 or 6 positions. Try the same shot over and over again at each of the positions and see if I can tell the difference. The marks do not need to be permanent, they can even be a simple...

    Casting Call!

I think Gary Busey would make a great Earl "the pearl". Granted.... it would be the next level of Earl. Maybe get Richard Simmons for Nick Varner? he's got the hair.

    Tailstock question.

I am looking to pick up a lathe for multiple reasons. Since I don't plan to actually make a cue in the near future, i'm not having that be part of the criteria for my purchase. However, it would be nice to have something that I could put a shaft on for re-tipping. The part that I am not...

    McDermott D5

I'm interested, but not sure it is in my price range right now. You mentioned it had 'bullet' points. Do you mean the points used on a D23? I actually have a D4/D23 custom myself. If you could post or email me pics of your custom D5 and what ballpark you are looking for offers in, I can...

    McDermott D5

I am thinking of adding a D5 to my collection of McDermotts. Did they make these in a colorfully stained model? I've only ever seen the natural wood colors. (like the one in the McD timecapsule) If you have one and can post or send me pics that would be great. i'm not 100% sure I am...

Suggested Guidelines & Tips for Smooth Sales Transactions

There are actually a large number of businesses that operate on a no returns basis. Pretty much any store that sells something 'used', will not give you a refund unless you can prove some level of fraud. ( mis-representation, unknown major defect ). If you are talking about a 'new' item...

I picked up a Kaiser cue just for that reason. I got mine used, but Troy (Koinnkid) also has these at a good price. They have a great hit, alot even come with two shafts.
