I play on them regularly in the rooms I go to...they are inferior to Diamonds and GCs in my view. Do not feel as solid when you lean into them while bridging. Some pocket liners can leave those black streaks on your shaft. They also feel lower by an inch or so relative to Diamonds, which I...
I ordered a Mezz in June 2020 and it took around 12 days to arrive (from New Jersey to Florida). The cue had no issues and was packed well. USPS was very slow then. I've ordered a few things this year and they arrived via USPS in 2-3 days.
Your effort will be entirely in vain if not acquiring an '84 Camaro IROC with either Quiet Riot's Metal Health, Whitesnake's Slide It In or Ratt's Out of the Cellar cued up in that Alpine tape deck.
Classic rock from the 70s here as well. Thin Lizzy, Rush, Zeppelin, early Van Halen, etc. I'm a lifelong metalhead but in my middle age but have a hard time hacking the young pups playing modern death metal on the jukebox.
Sad to hear this news about Mr. Annigoni. A sobering reminder of how fragile life is.
Thank you for posting this well chosen section about him. Like many, I enjoyed the book and feel a tangible connection to Tony's life.
Good memory to mention that. I recall Earl stating in an interview he rated Yang as the best player in the world then. Earl remarked something to the effect that Yang pocketed balls cleaner than anybody at the time.
Good point about the overseas buyers. As for a shortage, I agree the market proves there is one. My reference was more to the abundance of them for sale at any given time.
I'm curious how the secondary breaks down, in terms of the buyers being first-time buyers or already owning one or more. It intrigues me how easily they sell on the secondary market with no shortage of them available.
Excellent recap as usual. I watched bits and pieces and glad you mentioned Alex Lely's commentary. He knows how to translate his knowledge easily and concisely.
Good to hear you guys connected. I consider Walter a friend from my time in the DC area and he is a strong player who can play many games. I'd like to visit the Carolinas more and see your room.
I have some pics from Hagan around 2009 and think this cue was one of them. So guessing it was made 2005-2008 range. The joint collar will yellow over time.
Forearm looks like Chechem and guessing the sleeve is a burl wood.
I use one when breaking hard. Helps preserve the tip and ferrule. With that said, I think the $700 + break cues are a scam. I feel a stiff $100-$150 well made cue will work just as well.
