    Art decor

Because that's stealing. Plain and simple. There are plenty of available and affordable billiard-related art sources online; just takes couple of google searches for "pool billiard art".

    9 Ball Question

Sounds like pretty much every other local 9ball tournament - but that's a *really* short race. But yeah, 9ball barbox tournaments are very often filled with it "hit it and hope" players.

    My bad habits.......

"Steering" is probably my most common habit/flaw. It happens when I don't trust my "set" position, but I continue with the shot anyway thinking "It'll be close enough to make it." So, really, it's a consequence of lining up poorly. Which is a symptom of not having the discipline of standing...

Guest Staring on Sharks Episode X

*sigh* yet another story point dropped in the middle without touching any of the existing story lines. I don't think that guy/those guys were real cops. It does do a bit of building for Jen's character. Perhaps not the best light shown, but still, she's the only character we've seen in more...

    Some Fun 9 Ball Caroms

That show with the 1 and 9 on the short rail - i made a shot similar to that just a few weeks ago in league. http://youtu.be/QEElqPfcQVo (after a few safety back'n'forth's the guy left it). :) I've tried those caroms to send the cueball a rail or 2 into the 9, but never make them. :(

8 Ball POOL TIPS on the Bar Box

This is where the concept of an "insurance ball" must be used. You simply can't risk the outcome of a cluster breakout without knowing you'll get a shot. This is the other half of the reason to deal with clusters asap - as there's more likelihood for another ball to be available should the...

8 Ball POOL TIPS on the Bar Box

For me, it depends on the layout. Its harder for me, personally, to jump the heavy red dot cue ball than it is the red circle, so I need the layout to be just right - at least 10 inches between the cue ball and the blocker, and i have to be able to comfortably reach it with the elevation...

8 Ball POOL TIPS on the Bar Box

A good tip I picked up from my 8-ball league days was when the tables just *will.not* rack tight, don't hit 'em harder - go down to a 50% speed break, it actually spreads them better. I don't mean just a few balls with gaps, I mean when there are easily 8 more gaps all throughout the rack...

    whats the shot?

There's something goofy with the embedded Wei tables lately - they're always a red x - until I click on them, a new window pops up and I can see the layout. I know you need to be logged in to pool.bz for them to work; but lately it seems they never work anywhere. :(

Legends and Champions Last minute addition to the Tour

SERIOUSLY!! This line-up/tour came through St. Louis early last year and it was an absolute blast spending time with Johnny and Nick! SOOOOO worth it.

    9-Ball Blaster!

I think there's some sort of divine intervention there - when good players try to slop-out, they always get screwed. It's like karma saying "you know better, and now i'm going to F you." LOL

    9-Ball Blaster!

Jude - you're absolutely right. I was implying, but should've made clear, that by playing the safe, you're playing a very positive % to get BIH afterwards, or least the chances of the opponent selling out an easy shot are very high. As in, not a weak safety.

?? About Scene from "the color of money"

When I first saw that movie - many years before I knew any pool lingo, I often wondered why when Amos asks Eddie that, he kinda snickers afterwards. It wasn't until, of course, I learned about the terms here that I read that line in an entirely different manner.

    9-Ball Blaster!

I frequently hear people say "If the shot to make the ball is as hard as the safety - go for the shot. If the safety is easier, go for the safe." It's all about controlling the table; and whacking the balls a hundred miles an hour doesn't do that.
