    Strengthening wood joint threads

I use a solvent based polyurethane varnish. Fill up the hole and let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes, then pour it back into the can. It works great but as previously mentioned it may need to be re tapped.

    tools

I started out as a teenager doing tips in the local pool hall. That was 60 years ago but you can still get acceptable results with $50 worth of tools. Buy a tip top sander. Get a 6"x 6" x 1" block of hard wood. Get a razor knife, some thick elastic bands, instant glue gel, LePro or Triangle...

Are you sure they are 29" each. Most Dufferin one piece were 57" long. It may be 58" if it is a Chinese one.

    Oil finish

This give more of a oil look finish. It is not a mirror finish. I thin it with mineral spirits. I used to use it on gun stocks when I hunted and now use it on cues when the person does not want a high gloss finish.

    Oil finish

I use an oil based polyurethane vanish. Thin in 10 or 15 percent. Wipe it on and leave it for 10 minutes and then wipe it off. Let it dry overnight and then repeat the process. It may take 4 or 5 coats but you will have a strong and durable finish that will stand up extremely well.

Exhibition Match between Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White.

I had the pleasure of watching a match at the Corner Bank in Toronto. Stephen and Jimmy played about 10 games and had 3 centuries between them. Because it was an exhibition match there was not a lot of safety play but is was fun to watch and their potting was much better than I expected from a...

    Staining the forearm

You may be sanding it too smooth. You probably shouldn't sand any finer than 320.

    Tapping and wax

I fill the hole with oil based urethane (slow dry), let it sit for 5 minutes and empty it out. Let it dry overnight. It soaks in a little and I find I get much better threads.

A few weeks ago I answered a post regarding the green veneer blanks that were made for Predator. I still have a number of these left plus some of the birdseye and curly maple blanks. I also have some of their rosewood blanks. Green Veneer blanks $50.00 Curly maple blanks $40.00...
