Hey Rick, I'd say yes and no. :) And I think you'd agree with me. Best, Mike

    Question about intentional swerve

Thanks, Dr. Dave for your comments. I was limited on time in my first set of trial strokes, hence the "short" experiment phrase. Despite the controls being limited in my trial strokes, the applications were my main concern. I appreciate your exhaustive research on the subject and your...

    Question about intentional swerve

Thanks, Dave! That was a very well done experiment and video. It was right up there with your VEPS presentations I enjoy watching. Thoughts I had on the video are that the player's (Mr. Dave Gross) interpretation of swooping the cue and what I do are different. He seems to be applying BHE...

    Pool Video Graphics Location

Good points. I find myself constantly looking at archived video trying to find a camera position that shows the mechanics of the players. Usually, the screen is filled with the table and a portion of a player's upper body. Best, Mike

Cuttung shots with inside english.and the contact point.

Very true. I enjoy the different systems for aiming and cueing. Especially the off center hits. lining up my ferrule, and pivoting. The reason is that I know my conscious mind will preoccupy itself with the task at hand. While I'm mentally performing one or more of these tasks, my automatic...

    Peripheral Vision & Path Perception

I think the pivot can be learned fairly easily and like you say, be done eventually as you get down on the shot. Stan has proven this to be a fact with his Pro One pivot as you get down on the shot, as an example. It's as easy as shifting a gear. Best, Mike

    Peripheral Vision & Path Perception

That's because you use a stick aiming system, right? That's a way to get them to work, especially on thinner cuts, like 45 degrees or more. Players with a weaker dominant eye or that have trouble keeping their dominant eye on the shot line, usually do well with stick aiming systems. Players...

Are there Really "Hard and Easy Shots" in Pocket Billiards?

I like that. Without getting too overconfident or lax on the PSR, I can see where you could mentally rehearse the total picture and visualize the pot. That'd eliminate the chatter a bit. Best, Mike

    Rate me again

You hit the balls good and have a smooth stroke. I'd work a little bit on the mental part and start looking at the table layout instead of just walking to the next shot. Your patterns are pretty basic. They can be fine tuned with a little more info by looking at what you need to do a little...

    CTP2CTP Aiming

I got CJ's ppv on banking. I did it mainly to see how he looked at banking and to validate what I do. He does what all top bankers do and does it very well. He doesn't hit banks with only TOI or anything crazy. He plays the banks that need outside spin, with outside spin. He adjusts for every...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

We always played no same last pocket. Before BIH rules, some players would shoot your last ball in the side pocket on their turn or at a hole in the kitchen. :) If they couldn't get out, they'd scratch and you'd have to kick at the 8 ball in the kitchen. The Chicago guys were so good because...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

When there's a top player hanging at a room, you can bet their influence has rubbed off on several other players in that spot . I'll bet Gary Spaeth's room had some tough bank action. Never played him and I've always been thankful I dodged that bullet. Best, Mike

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

A lot of players would gamble if you either banked the 8 or played last pocket 8 ball. There was always the chance for a shot or two because it's harder to run out. Best, Mike

    CTP2CTP Aiming

The system you infected my game with cuts those 80+ degree cuts well. :) I'm still getting used to certain shots, but I see some merit to it. It's going to be a while before I can easily get down without having to keep re-measuring the mirror images, but it's happening. I can only last an hour...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

No doubt. I just never matched up with anybody playing banks. I enjoy the game and would've liked to meet a few of them. :) Played a lot of bank the 8, though. Best, Mike

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

Oh, no! You didn't feed him, did you? LOL There's a name from the past. It was always drama matching up with him. Good player, but the sharking and whining was tough to fade. If you were up at all, you kept hearing this nasally, whiny voice, barely audible in the background about how this...

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

We used to play short rack banks ring games, 5 or more handed. Every 3 banks was a payday. High score was another for $5 and $10. B&R was worth $25 a man. Saw it done more than once. Best, Mike

    CTP2CTP Aiming

No, he didn't mention a pivot. LAMas posted a variation on the OP's statement. I've been playing around with both versions for something to do and expand my pool knowledge. Now I'm totally confused! :) Best, Mike

Is the Object Ball just a "Mirrored Reflection" of the Cue Ball

I grew up in Chicago. We played a lot of banks. Some guys that needed a spot in 9 ball could run out on you playing banks. I lived in Florida for a few years and can't remember ever matching up playing banks. Best, Mike
