That’s pretty much what has happened to me on Facebook. I’m still not entirely sure how they are able to change private account details. Is it our fault, or the website in question? What can be done to prevent it happening again?

To add insult to injury, Facebook are next to useless in addressing such problems. They even sided with the scammer on one occasion… a conman (from Africa) who was literally advertising my own set of pool balls for sale!

Here’s a screenshot of a scammer who was advertising Poker Pool ball sets for sale. They had taken over the account of a genuine business in Texas… failing to notice their Cameroon service provider was visible in the top left corner.

What happened exactly, Mr R? Did some lowlife actually manage to take over your account, or did they create a duplicate?

Sorry to hear this… it’s so frustrating. I’ve fallen victim to hackers four times now on social media sites.

Yes, everything you say is true, Moe, but Jack honestly believed all that was possible in my view. I don’t think he was trying to scam anyone.

I still believe it was genuine, Moe, but just a little naive.

My dream room would be membership only and limited to 100 members… new members only admitted by consensus when another member resigns, dies or is expelled. Equipment, food, liquor all top notch and provided on credit to members… bills to be settled monthly.

Alas, no, sir. The two sets pictured are the only balls we have made… a Poker Pool set released in 2023 and a Romanique set in 2024. Both sold out within a few weeks. 👍

It would be a lie to say the foam insert was EVA for sure, Mr N, because I don’t know. It might be… we instructed our box maker to use whatever material he considered most suited for the job regardless of cost and left the decision to his best judgment.
