That 100 logo is definitely Raschigesque.

    Jason Twist passed away...

Jay was a close friend of mine. We played in the same team for years. Can barely believe he has gone. Such a shock.

Fascinating, Mr B. If this is indeed a dedicated Nine Ball set from Hyatt, I have never seen its like before. What a wonderful discovery, dear chap!

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Sadly, that scenario happens all the time in the collecting game… a fellow dies and his heirs have no clue or interest in his treasured collection. I’ve been the beneficiary of this myself a few times… the joy of acquiring great pool ball sets is always tinged with a little sadness on those...

I’d like to see Steve authenticate that signature on Pawn Stars. 🙂 My money is on someone trying to get their pen to work.

The search is on for me now… I’ll not rest until a beautiful Romanique II is found for my own collection. 🙂

Fabulous on all counts, Brent. Many moons ago I was told that four separate castings of the Romanique II sets were produced, but your certificate is the first documented evidence I have ever seen to corroborate this claim. The registration number of 1661 is also very informative… strongly...

I’m aware of four other Romanique I sets currently in the care of collecting friends… Bfriesth, K2Kraze, Boxcar and Bob. Does anyone know others elsewhere?

Mr B has an original Hyatt certificate of authenticity for his Romanique II set. Super rare. Hopefully, he might be persuaded to share an image later. :)

Those photographs are simply stunning, Mr B. I honestly believe it is nearly half a century since two complete sets of Romanique I have been pictured together. I have certainly never seen anything comparable before. I am deeply grateful for your help and kindness, my friend. Thank you! 🙏

English 8 ball cue vs Snooker cue?

Quite often nothing, sir. I know many players who use the same cue for both snooker and English 8 Ball. That said, when I was playing I did use a cue with a slightly larger tip for snooker.

I, too, heard that Joe Balsis owned a set.

Is that your own Romanique II set, JV?

    Pool Ball Collecting.

That’s interesting, JV. Do you know anything about the potential Mizerak link, sir?
  18. Rubik's Cube

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I guess there are probably a few phenolic sets in my collection that might be considered of equal value or importance to the Romanique Is, but none better.
  19. Rubik's Cube

    Pool Ball Collecting.

Yes, that is a mystery for sure, sir. A fellow collector said Steve Mizerak personally told him that he was instrumental in the design of this set and the only examples ever cast were given to professional players of a particular tournament. I know debate has raged over which Romanique version...
