    Playing like a pirate!

As I get older the eyes are not as forgiving as they used to be. I have tried playing with glasses but I find it hard getting down on shots. I have contacts but I am near sighted so the correction of the contacts does not allow me to see things up close. So what is my fix? I have started to play...

Looking to replace some parts on the beast (pooltable.kirchelconsulting.com). Need some new cushions which means I need some cloth also. I would like to get some super speeds if possible although I am having a problem finding some for a reasonable price. (maybe a room operator could hook me up...

    Drills, reset or continue

How do you view progressive? Using the 1/4 circle in the corner as an example. Lets say I pot the first ball the second ball I get perfect shape. I pot the second ball but get out of line on the third ball. I pot the 3rd ball but get back in shape for the 4th ball. Should I have reset after...

    Drills, reset or continue

Doing only drills lately. I need to get back to where I once was. Doing the 1/4 circle in the corner. (2 diamonds, 6 balls). Ball at each intersection, no rail. 2 diamond circle in the center draw drill. (run out of time at this point) My question is... If in the middle of my drill I blow a...

    Watch those vents.

Not very, but it is the circular directional style. No windows in this room as it is also my theater.

    Watch those vents.

Looking at my table last night I noticed that there was only one rail that has hardened up and only half of it has. I thought this was strange until I looked directly above it. In the ceiling above the rail is an air vent for both AC and Heat. I am guessing it was heat that caused the rail to...

    Shaft straightening

I have had luck using a couple of books propped at either end of the shaft and using a 5 lb weight with a towel placed on the shaft to bend it the other way. I have also seen people use magazines and do the same thing but leave it there for a while. When the shaft finally rests on the table...

    Best rail cushion

It has been around 10 years since I built my table and I have a dead rail. It is time to replace them... In your opinion what is the best rail cushion to replace them with? I currently have Championship K66 and while I would have liked them to last longer than 10 years they have been good to...

Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

Ok one more twist then. Which would you take a 30% success rate on sinking a corner ball or a 70% success rate on sinking the 1 ball? This would be with sacrificing cueball control.

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

I made the app to teach ball to ball overlap for making shots. Sort of like the BAT or Spider. If you are trying to teach someone how to shoot shots it will exactly calculate the ball to ball aim for any shot.

Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

Ok lets make it a little more interesting. Lets say you were able to acquire a 70% success rate but you had to sacrifice cueball control to get it? If you were almost guaranteed to sink the 1 in the side but the sacrifice was that you had to let the cue ball come off the side rail and bounce...

Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

If you found a way to actually break the balls with a medium stroke with lets say a 70% success rate on dropping a ball would you commit to that or would you stick to just slamming the balls and hope that one goes in?
