Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

In answering a related email I realized something... I think we are trying to make a point about 2 different things. You all are seeing my application as an aiming system and I am trying to defend how the application works. How my application calculates the ball to ball overlap is in no means an...

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

I am using the same line. Not a guestimated line based on ghost ball. It is the same shot just the balls are closer to each other. Not along the shot path but physically closer together based on the same cut angle.

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

I can line my cue up with the OB to CB center line on any shot and it is in the same location for RH or LH or 10 degree, 20 degree, 37.26 degree cuts or any cut. Trying to guess where Ghost Ball line is only just that... a guess, unless you are allowed to draw a chalk mark on the table exactly...

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

I am dealing in concrete lines here. The CB to OB center line never changes over distance where as the ESTIMATED (or better terms GUESSED, SHOT IN THE DARK, FUZZY I THINK SO CUZ THAT IS THE WAY I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT IN THE PAST) line needs to change as you get closer or further away from the...

    ✯✯SHARKS Web Series Episode Two✯✯

Jim btw great work so far. Production quality is great! I only have one suggestion, I am by no means a director but have worked with producing company videos. I am assuming that this is shot with a single camera. This makes it difficult for the actors to react to the dialog as it happens. If...

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

Ok here is a better graphic of why a 70 degree shot cannot be made from 4 inches away. The red ball is the object ball. The black ball is the cueball and the blue ball is the location that the cueball must contact the red object ball to cut it 70 degrees. If you were to shoot this this shot, the...

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

Using the graphic that I posted if the cut angle is larger than 65 degrees produced from the blue line and the desired object ball path black line, shooting from cueball position B, is impossible without masse.

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

Using your graphic I will explain further. Looking at the attached picture you will see that I have added a couple of lines and another cueball position. 1) the blue line represents the line between the object ball and the cueball centers. 2) There is a red line that represents the path of...

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

Why are you throwing something like depth perception into something that is actually 2 dimensional? Yes it is a half ball hit from 12 inches on up. As you place the two balls closer together along the same line that is generated by drawing a straight line through both centers of the object ball...

Enlighten me... Not sure I follow.

Billiard Architect: Finding the impossible shot

Here is a video that describes why a shot that has the object ball close to the cueball cannot be made. Distance is everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAsB0sOz-bU

    Billiard Architect Tutorial

As promised here is the Billiard Architect Video Tutorial. Be nice as this is my first YouTube video. :) Hopefully it will show how invaluable it is in teaching aiming and show how powerful it is to instructors, amateurs and billiard enthusiasts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMuuWSHWWe4...

    Book exchange pool

How many of you would put up a $300 deposit to read rags to rifleman and get it back after either returning it to the "library" or sending it to the next person on the list?

    Book exchange...

Great idea but how many in here do you think would pony up the 300 bones. I am guessing 2. As for the shipping I don't see that it would be double. The person receiving the book would only pay double if it was coming from the library. If it was a list, as I am sure buddy's book would be, then...

    Book exchange...

There has got to be a way to get this to work. I would hate to have say 20 people donate 10 bucks to buy a "donate library" copy of Rags to Rifleman to have someone pilfer it. Ideas?

    You are what you eat...

If you put a bunch of red sauce on it then yes that is not good. Pasta itself is not bad for you and is a great source for vitamin B. Vitamin B is awesome in converting food into energy. Energy needed for superior brain function. That's why I can spell words like Bizarre wrong and not feel bad...

    Book exchange...

Its ok. I sold my harder to find books ages ago but then again I had already read them. I have around 5 or 6 of the more popular ones. But there maybe someone that has not read those that have ones that I have not read.

    Book exchange...

Who would be interested in a book exchange? Would give some of us a chance to read some of the harder to find books. I can keep track of who has what and when if you all are interested. I propose you tell me what you have and I will setup the exchange. If you both agree (this will keep the...

    You are what you eat...

So what do you eat before tourneys? What seems to keep me focused is a big plate of pasta with a touch of butter and parmesian cheese. Good carbs! I also do a regiment of B6 and St Johns Wort (magical) What I don't eat is Big Greasy cheeseburger (mmmmm). Makes me lethargic and not care if I...
