    Turning diameters....

I have some 2 inch rounds I turned around a year and a half ago. It is time to put them together for the handle of my cue. I will be using a tenon with 3/8 all thread to pull it together. Once I do... what is a general rule of thumb for turning diameters? What minumum diameter should my first...

    Hello...

Just happened to hop on here looking for some info. Because I just stopped by I figured I would wave a hand to some old friends. Haven't played in while but that will soon change as they are building a new hall around the corner from where I live. For those that remember me would love a "Hey...

    JK001

Just watched John's excellent video on Brite Tone. Thanks for the outstanding advice Middleofnowhere. I work with a N95 mask. (Yes the real ones, not the ones people use for covid) I have a chemical mask I may use that works so well that we had a mouse die in our attic and I went up there to...

    JK001

It's official I have started on cue JK001. Turned down some test blanks today to 1.375. May start on JK002-JK005 tomorrow. I have some padauk blanks a nice piece of wenge and a full tote of cocobolo. Definitely need to 3d print a dust/chip collector for the router.

Moving my shop... Thanks Chris Hightower!

So far I have talked with him a couple of times and I get the feeling he is like me and really enjoys talking about building cues and the machinery behind it. So far been friendly and informative. I will try not to bug him too much :) And yes I am a big fan of getting anything you want... at...

Moving my shop... Thanks Chris Hightower!

If you haven't been following along (yeah you haven't because I post few and far between) I had a Enco lathe that was a pain in the a.. to tool up to do cues. It is not easy dealing with a 1700 lb beast that is in the back of a storage unit that gets to 120 degrees in the summertime here in FL...

Sold FS: Kikel Amboyna Burl Beauty

Because of shoulder issues I don't play the way I used to or cannot for long periods. It is with regret that I am selling my Kikel Cue amboyna burl cue with two shafts. Joint is a 5/16 14 pin. Ferrules Joint and butt cap are ivory. All inlays are ivory. It hits solid as anyone that has shot with...

    HOW cue tips.

Don't want this to turn into a who's on first... Just put a soft and a medium on my Kikel cue. All I can say is the only thing wrong with these tips is the name. (You try looking up HOW cue tips). Very consistent and the hit is similar to (my previous favorite) Moori. Any one else try them?

    Looking for input....

Working on a new project. Starting out with some drills so on. I posted a video on YouTube and was wondering if I am targeting the market properly. Below is a link to the video. Let me know if I properly explain myself and if it makes sense. https://youtu.be/7lf3ZF7LLHQ This video is not live...

HOW cue tips from Taiwan, any users?

Just bought a med and a soft. I really like them. Soft plays like a moori medium. Medium plays like a triangle medium. Got to run a few racks at a place that sells them. Let me tell you this. They had them on some action cues and the hit was really solid.

    Finally started....

Never said I was resisting. I appreciate all the input. I am starting on conversions first and have not needed to use the router arm as of yet. I am still tooling up right now. I also want a router that is horizontal to the work for doing threading. I have a 1/4 router that I will probably use...

    I still don't...

I thought of that. Just learning now what is possible. These cues I got from pool halls that had them sitting in the back room. Either got them for free or paid less than 5 bucks for them. Working my way up to my Titlist.

    I still don't...

I am going to do my measurements next week after putting it through hell this weekend. See where I sit with my existing 5/16 14 shafts. This was more for getting joint practice. I have 3 Dufferins to play with. This is going to be my no frills butt. I may step up the next one with some round...

    I still don't...

This one had a couple of minor dings I was able to raise with just wet sanding. It does have a surface crack. I will dimension it out next weekend and see where I am sitting. I am still waiting for my 5/16 14 tap. They sent the 7/16 14 but failed to ship the 5/16. Hopefully soon.

    I still don't...

Showing off... Here is what heaven looks like! My first Dufferin conversion. Cut down and took the finish off. Oh and to that shop teacher that yelled at me on the first day of shop class. "F U! No that lathe was not mine! I now own my own and YES I still don't know what I am doing!"
