Finally got around to putting one of these duds on my player. Very impressed. Holds chalk well and hits like a hard tip but spins the ball like a medium. keeps its shape very well. I like.

I dont think they are meant to be shims. The pocket facings are stiffer than the rail rubber so they dont deform and spit balls out of the pockets on balls shot into them (ie balls hit down the rail).
