    Carbon Fiber Pool Cues

The Balacini line of cues sold by McDermott were probably the only true carbon fiber cues ever made. After buying the rights for the cues, it was soon found that it cost more to manufacture them, than they could sell them for....$295...I believe was the original retail target price.

KAMUI TIPS - do you like them??

Tried all the brown and black Kamui tips, gave them a chance, and did not find one that I could honestly say that I liked. As far as the Triangles being medium or hard or medium/hard, in every box one might find soft, medium, or hard consistensies. Tweeten has been doing better at making tips...

    McD Shaft dimeter

Depending on the finish thickness, I have seen them from .820 to .860. The steel jointed McD's usually are closer to the same diameters. It just depends on how agressive the employees are when polishing out the cues with the plastic joints.

    Best hitting joint?

This thread does nothing but a disservice to all the newbies that happen to find this site. They actually believe that the posters on here are cue experts and have tried every joint, cue, tip, taper, etc. and know what they are talking about. And then the search for 'magic' begins. Do the new...

    U.J. Puckett's cue ?

U.J.s Tad cue had a wrap. It was a light color wrap, and he gripped it so hard, you can see the old style weight plugs outline under the linen.

Earl and the truth about the "Million Dollar Challenge"

I had the pleasure of watching Bob Vanover run 9 racks and out during the finals of the Texas Open. A feat that I would think was maybe a once in a lifetime experience. Then the Earl show came to town. The tables were set up by Big Dave from Houston, all new black laquer Gold Crowns. The...

Earl and the truth about the "Million Dollar Challenge"

I did not see the first 5 games, and the rumor of Earl making the 9 five times on the break is not true. Also my former partner (may God rest his soul) was wrong when he said Earl had to run an eleventh rack because he did not stop at rack 5. As the crowd starting to amass around the table...
