    First Problem With Pirate Shipping

I don't see a contradiction. The poster was saying that FedEx is expensive, for example even with his 30% discount it still cost $130/package.

    First Problem With Pirate Shipping

It doesn't sound like you use Shipsurance. One reason I like Pirateship is that they have their own package insurance called Shipsurance, and when you buy it, UPS/USPS cannot see that the package is insured. In the past, Jay Helfert has posted that he doesn't insure packages because he is...

My confusion about the diagram must be more fundamental because I don't know how that statement is relevant. Suppose the OB's position was moved up and to the left along the connecting tangent, say 3". Hitting along the connecting tangent would sink the OB at its new location into the same...

Have you ever lost your cue?

Sorry, no discouragement here. I've never lost a cue, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in a tracking device.

I don't understand that shot. As diagramed, aren't you going to just miss the OB, which I assume is the upper ball? To hit the OB, you have to aim into the OB at least a little, and how much you tick the OB is just feel isn't it?

Trivia question: Nick Varner, Max Eberle, and ???

Players from Linwood University, where Mark Wilson coached, won the collegiate championship the last six years it was held. Landon Shuffett won it two years in a row for Linwood University. But, it looks like the big stick played a decade earlier: Lars Vardaman won it three years in a row for...

Trivia question: Nick Varner, Max Eberle, and ???

Nick Varner won the same tournament two years in a row. Two and half decades later, Max Eberle won that same tournament two years in a row. What other azbilliard member won that tournament?

New pool room: The Crooked Cue, Colorado Springs, CO

At the Crooked Cue, I could see some stains on the five month old cloth. Even the 10' which doesn't get as much play as the other tables had a circular stain from a glass or coffee cup with a wet bottom being set down on the cloth. I never saw any sign that said there was a $500 fine, nor did...

New pool room: The Crooked Cue, Colorado Springs, CO

According to google, Felt Billiards and the Crooked Cue are 1 hour apart. If you stayed at a hotel half way between them, you could drive 30 minutes south to the Crooked Cue to play on the 10' or a 9' or a tourney on 9' footers on Sunday; or you could drive 30 minutes north to Felt and play on...

You could still dine and dash. If you haven't realized it yet, 90% of the people in the world are inconsiderate scumbags who only think of themselves, and they have no morality, so they will try to get away with anything they can. As long as they can record it with their phones and post it to...

New pool room: The Crooked Cue, Colorado Springs, CO

The picture shows the upstairs level, which contains 8 x 7' Diamonds. Upstairs is an open loft style setup with red brick walls. There are black upholstered square stools that line the walls upstairs. There are plenty of stools for both players and friends. I think the couches are for people...

New pool room: The Crooked Cue, Colorado Springs, CO

Over Christmas, I was in Colorado Springs, CO for a couple of days, and I was surprised to find a pool room in the downtown (?) area called The Crooked Cue. It's a couple of blocks east of I25 which runs North-South through the city. The bartender said the tables were five months old: 7 x 9'...
