I think favor might not be the word. I feel lesser players believe they have more of a chance to " hang " if the better player can't run racks. I will always think if you win the game you should break. IMHO

I use a full time 4" mid cue ext LOVE it, as you have stated not using it full time I would go with the longest rear ext you can IMHO

I would agree, The Diamonds are the starting point/ baseline. Being able to adjust is a absolute ! and when teaching any "System" there must be a starting point IMHO
