I have a homemade shaft spinner http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=361490 I have a 9amp 1/2 inch electric variable speed drill with a max of 850 rpm and 416 max pounds of torque. Do I need more rpms to shape and trim tips? If so, how many rpms is ideal (without buying a big boy lathe)?
