    Bobcad 24 Pocketing Tutorial

Thanks! I actually had planned to use Sheldon's approach for things like the tip of a floating point. In cases like that (where only the tip of the point is the problem area), I agree it is more efficient to program an "extra" pocket at that point. The "arc slowdown" sounds neat, but isn't...

    Bobcad 24 Pocketing Tutorial

Question for Tony First, let me say that your generosity in providing this tutorial is without measure!!!!! Now for my question. You stated that you make your roughing passes in steps and your finish pass at full depth. I tried that initially, but ran into problems when my design had a...

    Prefered cue weight

I'm curious too I'd also be interested to know if there is a common prefered weight used by pro players. I, personally, like a weight between 19 to 19.5 oz. However, I have found from experience that balance is more important (to me) than weight.

    Rosewood

IMHO, it's the quality, not the name that matters I don't feel it's that big an issue. Regardless of the exact species, each piece of wood is unique. Is a cue with a crappy piece of Brazilian Rosewood better than a cue with a really nice piece of some other Rosewood?

    Nasal problems

Here's mine I cobbled this together with some scrap plywood, a sheet of plexiglas and some aluminum angle. The enclosure catches just about everything. The gap in the front generates a draft into the enclosure. In addition, I have a JET air filtration system above the machine on the ceiling.

    Giving thanks for you!

Right back at ya! Thanks to you as well! I bought my Mid-Size Cuesmith lathe from you a number of years ago. It was one of the best investments I ever made in my life. The number of cue lathe suppliers seems to be exploding lately, but you'll always be "The Man" as far as I'm concerned!

    High Speed Spindle Discussion

Wolfgang Spindle I'm suprised no one has mentioned the Wolfgang spindle. Maybe at 20K rpm it's not really a "high speed" spindle, but it's been working great for me. The maker of this spindle does offer an optional pulley that will up the rpm to 30K, but admits that this will reduce the life...

Now, now.... I don't think jaydog468 was slamming the OP. I just think that some people don't consider the search function before they ask a question. There is a wealth of information in this forum that can be accessed by searching...and then you don't have to wait for someone to answer:wink:
