How Important Is it to Own/Use a Break Cue

So a player that can't run out is supposed to hook their opponent, get ball in hand & not be able to run out? A bad player is a bad player. If one does not possess the ability to run out, they probably don't have the skill or knowledge to play a useful safety either. I will however concede...

Just started watching the 10 ball on ultimate pool.

Played in a regional event last weekend on the Valley's. 541 players total in all divisions. 2nd chance events in all divisions. Mini tournaments being run one after another. Calcutta money was strong as ever. Yep there's a problem with American pool.

Going towards CF break shaft/cue, my options

Put a Whyte Carbon break shaft on your Mezz butt or just stick with the Mezz. Or spend the extra $$$$ get the BK Rush & use it forever.

A Catalog of Common SCRATCHES, and How to Avoid Them

You have 4 shots in that 1 rail position segment. The first two & the last I can't definitively tell the positioning of the cue ball and object ball. The third example I most definitely can. Let's take a look at the third example. The object ball is sitting behind the diamond closest to the...

A Catalog of Common SCRATCHES, and How to Avoid Them

You are creating every one of those scratches in the one rail position portion of your video. You should be starting with center ball using the resulting tangent as a baseline.

On your one rail position shots why is "natural" top instead of center ball?

    Balance point and deflection

Changing weight in the butt of your cue is not going to magically change how the shaft was built. The only thing that might change is how the individual delivers the cue which could lead to change in deflection.

    Shaf Drop Bouncing

I get what you are saying Bob, I was asking in terms of numbers. Like in golf - higher COR yields real world gains in ball speed and distance. So what I am asking - is there really a significant measurable gain from a "lively" shaft vs a "dead" one?

Another Bad Draw-Miscue-Scoop Foul Call in a Major Pro Pool Tournament

"An unintentional scoop caused by a draw shot miscue is not a foul regardless of whether there is secondary contact between the tip or ferrule and the cueball which there most always is." How on earth could the ref call a foul with the above information written into the rules? If one believes...

Controversial Non-Call of WRONG-BALL-HIT-FIRST FOUL - Hanoi Open - Capito vs. Lechner Quarter Final

Eliminate the speculation on who would have won the match based upon a call of foul or no foul. Just stick to the evidence that leads to the correct conclusion.

Shoot a Million Balls? Give me a break.

At age 15 Greg Norman was a hack just like everyone else when starting out playing the game of golf. It took him 18 months of what I would imagine was damn hard work to achieve a scratch handicap.

Shoot a Million Balls? Give me a break.

Tiger said “When I’m getting ready for tournaments, I make sure that each and every day I have 1,000 contacts with the club.” That does not mean he is out hitting 1000 balls a day on the range. He was looking at contact / touches of the ball with any club in his bag. That means x amount of...

    Daimoninzing New Valley

Of course they do, nowhere did I say they didn't. Let me clarify for you and the everyone else. Don't worry about Diamondizing a Valley Pool Table!! Hell even leave it alone with factory specs. Bad play stems from not knowing where the cueball is going imo, not from the ability to pocket...

    Daimoninzing New Valley

I too would go with the Penguin Pro rails and forget about the rest. Focus on position play & control of the cue ball & don't worry so much about pocket geometry.
