    Probably not going to affect a new player as much but the diameter of older traditional cues are larger than most newer builds.

    Buying Unknown Cues- An Example

    Hard to tell what the handle is but looks like it could be a type of striped ebony ot Bocote. As for the shaft it almost looks like an illusion and it is very close to 13mm. I think it has a strainghter taper making it appear thinner. I'd say it's a 150.00+ cue for sure.

    Maybe you can track it down. He may remember who bought it. Who knows. I'm surprised Richard didn't come right out and say yes/no to building it. Maybe he wants it in hand or I guess it's possible he charges like Schon does now.

    After doing some picture comparing, I'd say there's a good chance it is an early Black. Be nice to have both cues in hand to do some real comparing.
