Casino daily take during pool tourn.....??

I figure major impact for the casino given the number of people traipsing in for over a week in during an otherwise dead winter month. I vaguely recollect that in MO the casinos had to publicly post their take each month. Don't know about IN. Lou Figueroa

    Fix the Foot ...

I believe players care about games they can identify with because they play them -- n.o. b.o.d.y is playing on 10' tables. I know from conversations with him that, at it's inception, Greg was hoping to popularize 10' tables with the Big Foot. But that ship has sunk. It's time to turn it...

SVB, Griffin, and Panozzo elected to 2024 Class of the BCA Hall of Fame

Yes, Mark should have been in years ago. It is a shame the voters can't GTST until someone has passed. I know Mark would have been tickled to receive the honor, well deserved a long time ago. Lou Figueroa

    Thomas Shaw

One of my favorite things to read in P&B were his "Legends of the Road" articles. If it hasn't already been done they should be compiled and in a book. Just really wonderful stories. RIP Tom. Lou Figueroa

    DerbyCity going to Nashville...???

I think the Derby continues to evolve into something different than what it started out to be. Back at the EW it was a raucous, ramblin', gamblin', free-for-all replete with high stakes matches (Jack Cooney v James Walden anybody); pool legends like Grady, Diliberto, Varner, Archer, Parcia...

    I Miss Two Day Tournaments

Playing on one then going to the other, for several years… that is horseshit. They play quite differently as any player of some experience can tell. Lou Figueroa mechanics who can’t play maybe not so much

Most guys do mot have access to tight blue oval label Diamonds. Most are playing on older model Diamonds (if they’re lucky) or GCs, or something else. It’s just that simple and has nothing to do with being American or not liking them, lol. Lou Figueroa

    DerbyCity going to Nashville...???

Everyone but Diamond. I think you have to consider that the whole tournament staff probably works at the factory -- do the math: Jeffersonville IN to New Albany, IN vs anywhere else they were to move to. Makes total sense for them to be at Caesar's from that persepective. Lou Figueroa

    DerbyCity going to Nashville...???

It costs me more in time and money to move across the country than across town. Lou Figueroa

How long does POOR play keep you down?

BD, I feel that a lot depends on how you're wired. Me, I just like to hit pool balls. Nothing finer to me than racking up the balls, separating out a break ball, and trying to run a few. In that vein, I firmly believe that you need context to challenge yourself and for me that's 14.1. If...

    DerbyCity going to Nashville...???

I can see why Diamond would want to stay put. It's close to the factory and after all these years they know the "lay of the land" and stringing up lights, placing tables and banners, and the overall logistics of the event are almost automatic. Starting from scratch in a new joint would be...

    I Miss Two Day Tournaments

Well, there were slate support issues too with the early Diamonds. I remember talking to one guy at the EW who claimed he helped design the table and he admitted they didn't put in enough support for the one-piece slate. Shoot, at my pool hall, Greg even stopped in once and installed support...

IMO, the blue label Diamonds play pretty good -- the newer blue oval label Diamonds not as good. Totally admit that is from limited exposure between my home room, Railyard Billiards, and the DCC. Lou Figueroa

    I Miss Two Day Tournaments

If memory serves: there is the steak house, and then a shopping mall food court kind of set up with a country kitchen, a Mexican joint, a pizza joint, and an Asian joint. I never saw the Mexican or pizza joints open. I went up to the Asian to get a couple of eggs rolls and was told, oh so...
