There's no poolroom in A.C., that I know of. The closest might be Atlantic City Billiard Club in Egg Harbor. Eric

What's Going On With Custom Cue Prices?

My guess? Probably because cues are such a small (really small), niche market. There is very little liquidity and the market can be dominated by a a small group of cue market players, with low barriers to entry. Eric

    Tor Lory Skill Test???

    I'm far from the Fargo Rate expert, but I'll give it a shot... 3 = D = 420 4 = C = 480 5 = B = 540 6 = A = 600 7 = Open = 660 8 = Pro = 720 Eric

    Tor Lory Skill Test???

Just to split hairs, level 4 would be tough for a C player (my area) but a high C+ would be able to handle it. I would think C+ players would be included with "C". That's the problem with the ABCD ratings, though. It can be subjective, depending on your area. I like Fargo Rate better. Eric

    Pros who drink and play

Im pretty sure the year was 2002, that Pickle won the BCA Amateur Open division. Back in those years, you had a bunch of "pro" level guys that snuck in i.e. Chris Melling, Jason Kirkwood, Justin Bergman, et al. Eric

    Siming Chen vs Donny Mills

Actually, that's not entirely accurate. At a certain point, the variance starts to narrow. For example, the winning advantage goes way up from a race to 3 vs a race to 25. Thing is, you get finishing returns so a race to 100 is not that more advantageous than, say, a race to 50. Eric

Los Angeles area players from the past

Dalton was living "back east", in my area. I believe the rumors were that the Asian mob had an issue with him. I'm not sure if this was ever solved, so it's a rumor (but a fairly credible one). He definitely didn't die from natural causes; shot in the head, from what I remember hearing. Eric

Los Angeles area players from the past

Anyone remember a small time scruff that hung out at HAC (or was it the Hollywood Billiards, the one that was below ground level)? Somewhat taller, thin guy with longer, stringy hair and sunglasses? Kind of a hippy looking dude. I think his name was Danny? Eric

Horseshoe / Southern IN flooded again

Hopefully, the flooding is only the roads. Thing is, the convention center of the Horseshoe is closer to the river and on somewhat lower ground. It's also not part of the building that floats (unlike the casino portion). Hopefully, its not as bad as it seems. Eric
