Do you get angry when you lose?

Life's too short to get upset over a pool game...

How to Fix Your Pool Cue Shaft Dents By RockHead !

On my lathe, I will sometimes use 400 grit on shafts that have been abused or are extremely dirty but I use it very lightly and sparingly just to get the glaze off. I then use Hightower's liquid shaft cleaner to remove as much of the dirt and grime from the pores as possible. After that, I use...

I bought a steam gun from Amazon. Works great and it's a lot easier.

    Draw cut vs. Top cut

You said it much better than me. But that is exactly what I do.

That makes sense, pj. I know it's always felt that way to me but I was never sure why.

    Mosconi's 526

Looks like we were posting at the same time, Jay. Great minds think alike. ;)

    Mosconi's 526

Why not just setup a Brunswick table of that era with the same size pockets, same balls, and same cloth and let everyone go at it? Stream the video. Get some sponsors. Could even show some vintage video of the greats of Mosconi's era. Post the best efforts on YouTube. Might bring some life back...

    Mosconi's 526

Excellent point. I saw Mosconi play an exhibition near the end of his career. It was absolutely amazing to see him pocket balls. Monster play is right.

    Draw cut vs. Top cut

Thin cut to the right: left English. Thin cut to the left: right English. It's always felt to me that low right or left creates more throw than middle or high does. But maybe not. Any experts out there?

Any advice on how to deal with exceptionally slow opponents?

Beats me but it seems most pool players believe they're they're the only living, breathing organism in the room. :frown:

    My first APA game tonight.

The opposing team will always remind you. After you've shot. Then they get ball in hand, amazingly with no apparent guilt.

A praise for my APA League Operators!!!

Good post. If I could find an APA League with a good LO within reasonable driving distance, I would probably sign back up.

For God's sake, mark your pocket. Otherwise, end of the world.

Any advice on how to deal with exceptionally slow opponents?

And on that point. Are pool players blind, deaf, and dumb? Why is it when I'm down on a critical shot in League, some nitwit behind me decides to rack the balls while bumping into my cue? :frown:

Any advice on how to deal with exceptionally slow opponents?

I don't believe in sharking but I would make an exception for slow players. Good list.

Any advice on how to deal with exceptionally slow opponents?

I'd rather miss a foul than watch slow play.

    Why Kamui?

***Update I've been using a Kamui Black SS for about three months now. Holds it shape well and very consistent on English. However, I'm noticing more miscues due to glazing. Seriously considering going back to the Moori Medium.

What does a good game or match up of pool do for you?

I won a critical game last night in the playoffs against a good player. Played well and made 3 good shots in a row to win the game and keep the team in the match. Had a run the next game. Team lost the match but I'm still feeling pretty good.

    A new rule?

Seems like a pretty simple rule to write and understand. Interfering with the cue ball in motion is loss of game. And it doesn't really save any time to pick it up before it stops. How long can a cue ball roll?
