What is a good way for a low-level player to handle unwanted advice?

I think, that i understand you- really :) It also took me a while to learn to hold myself back giving unwanted "unasked" advices. And as soon as "you" feel, that a player not really wants it- just do yourself (and him/her) a favor, and take it as it is. Noone is the same human- and so she or he...

What is a good way for a low-level player to handle unwanted advice?

Well- cannot agree here from my point of view. Imo there s no difference teaching women or men. Maybe women like to spend more time on more "senseful things" (lol). I also had to learn to hold myself back giving "unwanted" tips. If I know the player, it s something completley different- then...

Drawing the cue ball with CF shaft

Carbon Shafts have a "bit" better energy transfer as some also already wrote here. That s a fact. But to really make a statement like "i can draw better with a CF" would also need a requirement: And that would mean, that you re able to execute all the time the stroke with the same speed...

Lesson from Tiger Woods on Warming UP

I always use to do "the same shots" before a match. First just a few shots to get "warm"- letting the stroke out. But no "circus shots" :-) Then same reference shots as always like reference kick and bank shots to know how the table reacts. Imo the most important "preparation" is anyway the...

    Stroke limit/skill apex

You wrote a sentence, that should be everyones goal-- "to always leave the table as a better player"-- no matter if it was a practice session, a friendly match- or in competition. Because one thing is written in stone: Attitude is a decision- your own decision!

    Stroke limit/skill apex

Amen brother! I am often amused if "railbirds" start to talk about Shane, - or other professionals. The guys who are on top 1 to 10 atm are usually also the players who put in more as the other guys- it s that easy. Many many ppl also say "Filler has talent"- sure he has- but imo the most don t...

Lucky Loser Sighted Ferrule Aiming System

basically what Shane does ( better said, what Shane said himself when interviewed by Jenniver Baretta).

    Jacked up, miss right

First try to get someone, who is knowledged- and he then can observe, if you maybe consistently hit to the left side of the vertical axis (in that case the cueball goes to the right- just normal deflection). If not, a knowledged guy could also observe, if you have an issue with the delivery of...

One complaint I don't care for

Everyone just should be thankful to get an inning- that s it. Furthermore it s wasting energy about something you anyway couldn t control.

Who is a fan of 60" cues?

I play myself with 62 inches cue- being bit older now with "some issues" (cough, lol) it helps a bit. It s more about the personal comfort- sometimes I am a bit amused, if someone plays constantly with a 68 inches cue....and himself is just 160 cm tall--- that looks *a bit funny*- and does not...

Has Europe Passed Asia at Pool?

As usual very well chosen words sjm- one of the rare guys here where i ll have immediatley have a look into a thread as soon as you typed sth or started sth :) Hope you re doin well matey. I won t go so far, that Asia would have fallen back-- what is fact is, that many european countries...

    Dallas West old school 14.1

A good friend of mine made holiday in the USA and got the chance to practice with Dallas West-- his story was hilarious. Day per Day Dallas begun every first match against him with a 100+ run. Without an exception over almost two weeks- on one day Boris wondered about something- but wasn t able...

position of butt hand (when shooting pool)

See it the same way-- every human is different/individual- and here some players have a problem, because of their inflexible/rigid wrist. Shane s break a nice example- but I see this much more for example on those tiny "small distance" finesse shots. Where I try to explain and also "show" how...

    speed

Imo "rolling the cb" is just too dangerous- and super tough, too. Every table- also a brand new table can have tiny *issues". So try to learn to use pocket speed whenever you re able to. Speed 2,5 to 3 (so a cueball would roll 2,5 or 3 table lenghts) sounds fast....but it isn t for sure :-)...
